In my alt_history mod I am going to have a world map, and make a feature of a global conflict; So one of the things I want to do is improve the test for players posed by a sea invasion.
I'm going to make the Firaxis Troop transport have a low movement (most of the sea units, including subamrines are going to have increased move rates; I'm going to set the multi purpose assault transport at 3) and only allow it to carry 2 units of any type.
The Cruise ship will be able to carry 6 Foot troops (no tanks or APCs, I want the logistics of a sea invasion to be Sea Difficult as it is in real life; no more packing eight divisions of tanks on a transport that can withstand direct attacks by submarines even when unescorted, trecking half way round the world in a few turns and crushing enemy cities with Armoured spear heads).
The cruise ship is also going to be weak! a single attack from a carrier based fighter squadron shold be enough to end your boys to the bottom if they don't have Naval back up perhaps a ADM value of 1/1/5 I may also do a cheap, fast "liberty ship" type unit for transporting tanks etc.. also with a low ADM value.
Here is a 8 way preview, Ive done the Default already. I need advice on what Navy fleet vessels to do, I was thinking of doing a WWII pocket battle ship, a destroyer and a Capital ship. Any sugestions?
