How can I stop this?!

Looks like spammers have gotten more clever.

I've recently have been getting this mysterious mail that's from "INVALID_ADDRESS@ .SYNTAX-ERROR."

There's no way I can block it as it has no "From" in the heading. No marking "This is spam" (though Yahoo) and doing away with it.

I clicked on the removal already...but what if there was no removal button? Then what?

And it's not even addressed to me - they're all to google, and yet it ended up in my Yahoo box.
 
I have been seeing the same thing. It will allow you to use the Report as Spam option if you are at the Inbox.

The ones I have problems are ones that don't even have anything in the sender address, and can't be reported as spam or forwarded to abuse@yahoo.com. Those I delete.

I browse my Inbox and delete/Report As Spam all unknown emails before reading any of my emails.
 
How can I "Report as Spam"?

It's frustrating...I reported it to SpamCop but they said they "couldn't find the spam"
 
Forward the mail to the FTC's spam mail box: uce@ftc.gov

Report it to the Federal Trade Commission. Send a copy of unwanted or deceptive messages to uce@ftc.gov. The FTC uses the unsolicited emails stored in this database to pursue law enforcement actions against people who send deceptive spam email.

Let the FTC know if a "remove me" request is not honored. If you want to complain about a removal link that doesn't work or not being able to unsubcribe from a list, you can fill out the FTC's online complaint form at www.ftc.gov. Your complaint will be added to the FTC's Consumer Sentinel database and made available to hundreds of law enforcement and consumer protection agencies.

Whenever you complain about spam, it's important to include the full email header. The information in the header makes it possible for consumer protection agencies to follow up on your complaint.

Send a copy of the spam to your ISP's abuse desk. Often the email address is abuse@yourispname.com or postmaster@yourispname.com. By doing this, you can let the ISP know about the spam problem on their system and help them to stop it in the future. Make sure to include a copy of the spam, along with the full email header. At the top of the message, state that you're complaining about being spammed.

Complain to the sender's ISP. Most ISPs want to cut off spammers who abuse their system. Again, make sure to include a copy of the message and header information and state that you're complaining about spam.
 
It was a supposed link.

I forwarded the mail to the ftc twice. First was w/o the headers then I read that you need to have the full headers so they can trace it back and take action.

I have taken a screenshot of the full headers and I'm a bit confused on what they mean. Is the reply-to the one that sent it, or is it the first or second return-path? :confused:

Reply-to is where the email goes if you click Reply and don't change it. For instance, at my work, it will come up with my name, no email seen. If you click on properties for my name, you will see the email addy. But if I select Reply-To from the Outlook options, it will send it to a different email addy, one that you can't necessarily see.

I was going to suggest that you look at the headers, and you can pull the email addy from that to block it. I don't know if you can block qgeurgeu3c3s@msn.com, but its worth a try.

27meg.com is a real PITA for me. . . I've unsubscribed from them, and it occasionally comes up with one. But at least the new ones aren't porn, just stupid make-a-million emails. . .
 
I used the pull-down menu and reported it to Yahoo, and I also blocked the email address. I dunno how effective that will be...and 24 hours left until removal.
