Combo Types > scroll down to the last 4 choices will be all Settler on PH's options. Is there a way to search for PH starts, ie, where the settler is on a plains hill (or forested plains hill)?
Go to the in game Buffy option (Ctrl-alt-o), find the tab with map finder, and find the save path. Change it to the map finder folder for future use. If you need help with the specifics on that, just ask.
thx...Dan (?)Pressed Alt+Control+O, clicked on the map tab, and updated my save path to be C:\Users\Dan\My Documents\My Games\Civ4_Map_Finder\Saves
thx...Dan (?)
Mapfiner uses different control keys with Buffy. Try Ctrl+Alt+G to turn on and Shift+Ctrl+Alt+G to turn off mapfiner.
Thanks, it works! Sure wish I knew how to search individual threads in the forum, if it is possible!
Unfortunately it doesn't work nearly as well as one would hope, partly because it ignores a sick amount of words, often making searches overly general, or way too specific.
The ability to search for exact phrases is one of the most requested features on many discussion boards. As suggested above, you can use Google search with the site parameter. However, doing so will find results in any subforum. If you're interested in just one subforum, make that subforum's name part of the search. For example, to find Ask a threads in OT, try this Google search:
"ask a" AND "off-topic" site:forums.civfanatics.com
Note the use of quote marks and the hyphen in the subforum title. This technique isn't perfect, but it's pretty good.
For someone with some programming skills this would be pretty straight forward, any volunteers??!!Is there a way to copy the mapfinder table into a spreadsheet?
