As the cliche goes, 'a week is a long time in politics'. So with one week before Lord Hutton announces the findings of his inquiry and the crucial vote on the 2nd reading of the Higher Education bill I have created this thread to ask the question, will Blair survive? The nightmare situation for him would be losing the vote on tution fees causing a vote of no confidence in the government on the same day as a Hutton inquiry blaming him for the untimely death of Dr Kelly. Alternatively he could win the vote and get a favourable Hutton inquiry. What do you think will happen? Do you think Blair will resign or stay and fight a third general election?

I don't doubt that he'll survive, but I doubt that he will loose the next election.
