I tell myself they have the axes but aren't equipped to haul in the timber. It makes me feel better.

Tristan's contribution is brilliant :D

You'd think they'd have noticed the 'AI won't use the sea to circumnavigate mountains' bug and the effect it has on the most played map, but noooo

I Worldbuildered HC a Galley and a Settler in each of his "end cities" last time I played Earth18, maybe 200-300 turns into a Marathon game. Y'know, just out of curiosity. When my Caravels showed up centuries later, those two Galleys (and both Settlers) were still sitting in the exact same spot. And he still had only three cities. :shake:

You'd think it'd at least send the ships on auto explore and end up dismounting or something :/

No kidding, you'd think the AI would have a least a little bit of a clue. I remember my youngest 1st Earth 18 (think he was 10 at the time) with him as Monty and myself as SB (needed to protect the kid from that evil American Rosie). He's doing pretty good, and then he sends a trim down to HC land. This is the following convo;

"dad?"

"yes son"

"Thought you said Cupac was badass?

"watch the language son, your moms is baking cookies, remember? and he is if you play him. Why? Wazzup?"

"hmnn, well, he only has 3 cities, and no navy, and he's not even exploring."

"how do you know son?"

"'cause I had 2 scouts loaded on my galley like you taught me and dropped 'em off there to take a look around"

(dad pride ensues) "well done son, what's your plan?"

"I think I'll put a city on that spot that only has 1 tile and make me a Panama like in history class"

"sound plan, son. I'll hole off the evil Yankee's while you do your thing"

"ok pops"

<long pause>

"dad?"

"yes?"

"how come the stupid AI doesn't just send a galley around the bottom of the map?"

(at this point we hear from the kitchen, "boys, cookies are done")

at which point my young precocious civver says to me " I think the reason why the AI's are so stupid is because the guys who made 'em didn't have their moms bake 'em enough cookies".

So, other than almost breaking something LMFAO out of my chair, that's the opinion of a young (at that time) civvers viewpoint of AI's.

You should try it with LongBows on the Galleys as well. AIs seem to always escort their settlers with longbows.

we need one with HC and cookies :)

I wanna make one! How are you doing this? Gimp? Paint? What? Just take a picture of leader and write the text? What is that font you use? Help! I can do HC and the cookies 'cause I agree that the AI is idiot since the programmer-mamas weren't bakin' their kids cake and cookies, just the awful programming-code-porridge! I failed in the last Nobles' Club game cause my mommy's cake was eaten at the day before the game! I wouldn't like to return to this topic but I found the YT-Hitler video funny too as 1 year older buddy than Drakarska's youngest son. Thought I saw the another Hitler video before, that one where he makes ragequit after losing Leipzig to barb warrior after it reaches the legendary culture!

It's white Impact with a black outline.

Yes!! Thanks a lot, dude! Let's see what I can do next week! Thanks to Lindsey40k for making this thread! Best general discussion thread for a while :goodjob:
