There are actually 5 left. China, Vietnam, Cuba, Laos, and North Korea.

There are plenty of evil regimes/dictator(ship)s left, not all are US enemies though...

BTW Rambuchan, though some of your Israeli/Arab cartoons are funny some are just distasteful (of both sides), I'm sure (based on your other submissions) that you can pick better than that.

It's talking about communist countries.

I think the cartoons are more of a reflection of the readers of that newspaper rather than on Rambuchan himself. Especially since he's obviously shown no bias in the cartoons he has or hasn't chosen

Regarding that Arab Israeli series: Like I said, I was hoping to present the full spectrum of commentary on the conflict. It's an ugly conflict. There are some distasteful views. Some of them quite simplistic and twisted. But those are the same views which perpetuate the bloodbath and political standoff. It would have been an incomplete series IMO if those less tasteful cartoons were left out. Sorry about that but the full picture is ugly. (There are plenty of other threads to visit if you want a rosey world view.)

I said at the top of that series that you would get all angles on the conflict. That's what I gave you. :)

And yes Prince is right. They are all drawn from the media which the participants in the conflict consume, so they are quite reflective of the range of sentiments.

3 of my regular favourite current cartoonists:

Godrey "Gado" Mwampembwa (Kenya), Peter Shrank (London) and Tayo (West Africa & London). They keep coming up with the goods. :D

Pakistan has successfully test-fired its first cruise missile. The successful missile test was given as a birthday present for Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. The missile is capable of reaching 500km (310 miles) and flies low enough to avoid a nations defensive radar systems. Pakistan had signed a deal with which to inform nuclear rival, India, of future ballistic missile tests. India was not informed of this test because it is a guided missile, not a ballistic missile. India had no comment on the test.

WASHINGTON, August 13 (Online): The US state department has said Pakistan's missile test was not conducted in a provocative manner nor was it aimed at threatening neighbours even though India was not informed beforehand.

Islamabad, May 28. (PTI): Defying international call for restraint, Pakistan today test fired its third nuclear-capable ballistic missile shortly after British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw arrived here to hold talks on defusing tension with India.

Pakistan Test-Fires Cruise Missile, Igniting Fears Of New Arms Race

By Robert Parsons, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty

Pakistan says it has test-fired its first cruise missile capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons. Cruise missiles fly close to the ground and are able to slip beneath most antimissile systems. There are fears that the test could undermine Pakistan's relations with India, which have been on an upturn in recent months. Pakistan gave no advance warning of the launch, despite agreeing with India just a few days ago to give advance warning of future ballistic-missile tests.
