Ideology vs Social Policies

Once you unlock ideology you can still pick new social policies. There are usually a few ideological tenets that I want, but after selecting a few tenets some social policies look like they would help more. So at this point is it better to keep selecting new tenets, or would new social policies sometimes be better?

Depends what your goals are. For example, finishing Exploration, Aesthetics or Rationalism may be important enough to justify turning back to those trees after taking a few tenets in your chosen Ideology.

It's better to go back to the policies becuse you do not get any finisher bonus on the ideoligia anyways,so it's no point taking tenents you don't get any benefit from isted of maxing out them plolicies insted.

I guess it depends entirely upon how much you value all three level 3 tenets.
(If you think one of them is a waste, you probably think at least one of the level 2 & 1 is as well and so stop improving ideology rather than finish.)
