Malakim tile changing - how does it work?

Been looking through the python files for the code related to tile changing - x becomes arid in 20 turns etc. I've found the routines for removing roads, changing roads to trails, hell terrain plot bonuses but that's it. Where's it hiding? :confused:
 
Thanks, didn't know about those functions, I'll take a good look at them. I can make sense of much of the python, but C++ is beyond what I know!
