Instead of making a Civ5, Civ Revolutions for the gaming console was made instead. Is this an indication of things to come? Do the devs see more potential for revenue on the gaming consoles and figure this is the direction they should go in? I hope not, because I have enjoyed the Civ series since Civ2, but I will not be buying a gaming console just so I can play Civ. I'll have to abandon Civ in favor of GalCiv and other franchises that remain int he PC format.
Not to mention, if the Civ series goes pure console on us, we will no longer have the ability to Mod the game, and you will not even be able to patch it and update it. Can you even have expansion packs for a console game?
As a loyal Civ fan for may years, I hate to say it, but in a way I hope Civ Revolutions is not as successful as previous releases, so the devs will go back to making new and improved versions of everybody's favorite PC game.
