Please feel free to discuss whatever here, but for you first post - please offer the following information:

  1. Interest/Activity level (High, Medium, Low, Mostly Lurking)
  2. Skill level in Civ4
  3. Experience with Multiplayer?

  5. Desired role on Team Merlot


This will help us get to know what kind of skill sets and interest levels we have on this team.

I'll start...

  1. Interest/Activity level: Low - I'm super busy in the dreaded real life. But I'll pitch in as much as possible.
  2. Skill level in Civ4: basically a Monarch level player
  3. Experience with Multiplayer? Lots - mostly play in MP games.
  4. Experience with an MTDG? Been involved in every single one, starting with Civ3. My teams have won 2 out of 3 completed games.
  5. Desired role on Team Merlot: I'd like to help by helping organize things, adding flavor with newspaper/video/history type things. I you're not familiar with my previous work, you can view some of it here: EEN Headline News, here: The Roundtable.
 
  1. Interest/Activity level: Medium. I don't want to get sucked in and spend all of my free time in a game, so I will try to restrain myself somewhat. I've lurked on this site for a long time, so I decided to finally do something.
  2. Skill level in Civ4: I play Deity with no Tech Brokering and Aggressive AI. I lose more than I win.
  3. Experience with Multiplayer? None really.
  4. Experience with an MTDG? Nay
  5. Desired role on Team Merlot: We are all nobles, with important powers. But we must all bow to the king.
 
  1. Interest/Activity level: High.
  2. Skill level in Civ4: attempting Immortal, consistant Emperor
  3. Experience with Multiplayer? dozen or so Pitboss/PBEM. A matrix of good and bad, finished and unfinished.
  4. Experience with an MTDG? De facto final turnplayer during the "conclusion" of BTS MTDG I. Lonely times.
  5. Desired role on Team Merlot: King, one of a revolving succession of Kings.
 
1. Interest -- very interested but also very busy. So I imagine I will be a sporadic poster, probably never nominating myself for monarch.
2. Skill level -- lazy Monarch (win 90% of the time at monarch, but can't really be bothered with the extra optimisation and game-abuse [eg, axe rush, early worker steal, whip calculation] that seems to be the way to win against the AI at Emperor and above.)
3. Experience with Multiplayer -- played a few times, but it seems to take so long to get a game-ful of players and then inevitably a player or two quits the game early and it becomes pointless.
4. Experience at MTDG -- none.
5. Desired role on Team Merlot -- scheming advisor.
 
1. Interest/Activity level: High.
2. Skill level in Civ4: Prince (Mostly Win)/Monarch (sometimes win)
3. Experience with Multiplayer? A few MP games and hot seat games with friends
4. Experience with an MTDG? None - This is my first!
5. Desired role on Team Merlot: I'd like to be a part of the many advisory positions to our glorious monarch.
 
  1. Interest/Activity level: High... in the long run. In the beginning a bit lower due to so called real life.
  2. Skill level in Civ4: Strong Monarch. I also win some Emperor games. Lose more of them though.
  3. Experience with Multiplayer? Lots of 1 vs. 1 games and some 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  4. Experience with an MTDG? None whatsoever.
  5. Desired role on Team Merlot Well this is completely up to the King obviously. Personally though I'd like to see myself in the uniform and at the front lines :viking:
 
1. Interest/Activity level: (High, Medium) But over the next 2 months may be medium.
2. Skill level in Civ4. Prince. I am going through each Civ alphabetically.
3. Experience with Multiplayer? Some pbems and some .
4. Experience with an MTDG? I was in team Saturn (and its member sub game) but also was game substitute player on a 2 civ teamer and in some Democracy games on 'Poly as well as player in the last Earth MP game here on CFC.
5. Desired role on Team Merlot Simply a noble in the court, but available as a sub turn player, if needed.
 
  1. Interest/Activity level : Medium to High
  2. Skill level in Civ4 : Prince to Monarch
  3. Experience with Multiplayer? : Medium - Played some friendly games with rl friends :)
  4. Experience with an MTDG? : None yet
  5. Desired role on Team Merlot : Advisory Councillor or some such - no royal ambitions as of now :)
 
1. Interest/Activity level: High.
2. Skill level in Civ4: have not played single player other than SGOTM for years, was beating emperor every time when I last played.
3. Experience with Multiplayer? 3 years of full on multplayer, hundreds of civplayers league games, taken part in lots of ccc's, won tournaments and played alot of pitbosses winning a big percntage of them.
4. Experience with an MTDG? This is my third
5. Desired role on Team Merlot: King but in a different way...PM's will reveal more ;)

Skill level in Civ4: Monarch
Experience with Multiplayer: None
Experience with an MTDG: None
Desired role on Team Merlot: noble of the court
 
Interest/Activity level: Medium-High

Skill level in Civ4: Solid Emperor player, though have not tested myself beyond that level.

Experience with Multiplayer? Participated in 5-6 games over the past year and am thoroughly hooked. I have a penchant for taking up lost causes midway and working to make them respectable.

Experience with an MTDG? I have been a multi-term President of two Civ3 MTDG's here at CFC, as well as a long-time participant/official/former moderator of Civ3 SPDG's. Also, took over a supposed lost cause "team" (though I played the remainder of the game solo...) in the most recent Civ4 MTDG at Apolyton.

Desired role on Team Merlot: I shall serve at the pleasure of our appointed King, at least in this stage of the game. ;) I do reserve the right to engage in unspeakable debauchery and subterfuge if our progess begin to bear resemblance to the games I usually take on...
 
Interest/Activity level: Medium. (Although I could get up to high after a couple of months.) :)

Skill level in Civ4: Warlord... Competant at Cottage Economies, never attempted a Specialist Economy. :blush:

Experience with Multiplayer? Some, although I tend to lose. (highlight though was when I once joined a game where the only other human was south of me already dominating most of the map with his vassals.. I couldn't take him head on (being Arabs stuck in a tiny tundran empire) so I just rushed military techs and then gifted them to everyone else. :lol: For some reason, despite this douchebaggery, he never attacked me.. :confused:)

Experience with an MTDG? None. :goodjob:

Desired role on Team Merlot: Loki-esque trickster... Er, I mean, humble advisor to the most glorious throne! :mischief:

  2. Skill level in Civ4: Warlord? Working on learning Specialist Economy :scan:
  3. Experience with Multiplayer? Two games :D
  4. Experience with an MTDG? No
  5. Desired role on Team Merlot: I'm here to learn Civ 4 - Hard and Competitive but Fun Mode in a fast and fun manner. Play with the best, learn with the best. :king:
 
Interest: Medium-High
Skill level in Civ4: Prince, though I could handle a harder difficulty level if someone else were directing the military.
Experience with Multiplayer: LAN games
Experience with an MTDG: None. I've played some PBeM Diplomacy games with some extra flavor thrown in- florid official documents, treaties and letters, news telegraphs, etc.
Desired role on Team Merlot: Monarchist Zealot, governor (or landed lord or whatever we end up calling that)/domestic planner
 
Interest level: Medium (and increasing: I just got done with a bunch of deadlines)
Skill level: Monarch
Experience with Multiplayer: I've played some MP games with my friends, but it's always the same people and there are certainly good MP strategies we've been missing.
Desired role on Team Merlot: Thinking of starting out as "court scribe", keeping a thread updated with screenshots and events, to get the hang of things. Being a lord managing a city, or something, can come later.

Skill level in Civ4: Emperor successfully....Immortal on very rare occasion.
Experience with Multiplayer: Pitboss 4-5 games, PBEM 6+ games, the i'll fated BTS MTDG I :(
Experience with an MTDG: see above :(
Desired role on Team Merlot: Nobleman, adviser to the King, thorn in the side of all, outside the box thinker, etc....
