It is suddenly an odd feeling:
Playin Civ3 at home, in Canterbury, England &, playing as the Americans, I must bomb and take Canterbury! :(
But no more unreasonable than finding my most inland city gets called Tampa Bay or building Las Vegas on Ice!
I made a point once of building the Manhattan Project in Nagasaki:nuke:!
When I invaded Canterbury as the Celts it kinda felt less odd since the force was sent out from Rutupie which is actually the Roman name for their fort, 25 miles from here (abandoned about 1600 years back).
It was odd too, capturing Paris with specialist Roman troops sent from Lutetia. (The Roman name for Paris. )
Anyone else got such experience. An American in NYC finding he must destroy New York?...

There are certain perks to being a Canuck. I don't face your challenge as we are not in the game.

I should mention that I rarely use the names the game suggests. I've just gotten into the habit of using my own based on the terrain mostly so I don't get LV on ice.
It does however add to the fun of Civ to see the things that do come up :bounce:

.

I always get mad, when I play as the Germans, and the game misspells the name of my hometown as "Heidelburg". :gripe: Looks like Firaxis couldn't afford QA before shipping...

More funny is, when the AI founds Pompeii next to a Volcano... :mischief:
