Green line across screen

When I run civ 4 I get a floating green line running up and down the screen. It makes the game unplayable.

I have a new computer - running SLI 6800LE graphics cards (2x 256MB) and XP Pro SP2. The comouter has 1Gb of RAM and a couple 300GB hard disks - so the harware should be good enough. The Monitor is a Viewsonic V924.

I have checked for all the latest drivers but nothing makes any differnce.

Any suggestions?

I faced the same problem when I got my SLI-capable machine

Go to your NVidia-settings and turn off the SLI-load display (should be the checkbox below, where you enable the SLI-mode.

This explanation may not be very good, but I am currently abroad and not sitting in front of my desktop.
