No 'Victory' in Tutorial?

Hello,

First time poster, first time Civ 5 player, and generally the civilization series as a whole. I'm enjoying the game so far, and trying to figure everything out, so I've been playing the tutorial for the past 5-6 hours or so. I defeated all of the other civilizations and even conquered the city states, ultimately, clearing the entire map; but I never got a victory?

The only thing that was happening afterwards were random barbarian villages popping up once in awhile, but those got smooshed pretty quickly. Do I actually need to play until the space age even if such progression is redundant seeing as everyone else is dead?

Well, it's a tutorial. It's supposed to teach you the basics.

That being said, I've never played the tutorial, so I wouldn't be able to say.

I suppose not. You're supposed to reach a win condition when you are the last one in ownership of your own capital.

Ah the tutorial.... I remember it.

I think I was playing China against Songhai... I dow'ed Songhai... and got my butt kicked. Thus concludes my first civ 5 game.
