Fox-05: The RNGod Strikes Back

*hands nail*

Hey, I was trying to like, revolt and all to liven things up but...no one seems to want to risk the wrath of him so....*retracts neck*

I thought that was last week which got canceled ...

and since this a new page, let me repeat (and create some clatter to delude the unsuspecting lurkers that there is actually a game going on ... other than the attempted mutiny and ophthalmic surgery):

Reporting Ground Rules

The most important rule is reports should be funny. Also, you should provide adequate details (preferably screenshots) on how an objective is achieved. Normal SG etiquette applies. Standard 24hrs to post a got it, 48hrs to play and report. If you can't play, just ask for a swap or skip.

I'll see if I have some time tonite for some spanking .... if not, I can play tomorrow unless ruff grabs it first

I am in Korea - but getting on a plane in a few hrs - back home at about 1pm (EST) Thur 24th. I will play on the plane and get a report up as soon as I can. Or I can be skipped - no biggie.

Nah - Play on the plane!

If you're willing to do that - dedication right there man - you may as well, you'll be closer to the RNGod anyway!

ok - I think I have everything ... save, personal roll, team penalty, new team objective. If I miss anything - I will just connect up and d/l it (yeah right!). Hope the in-game objective flags are up to date!

No pictures - nothing happened. My personal objective was to increase our bank roll by 200 gold. I played 11 turns because I lost count ... so our tribal objective only has 2 turns to go. All cities seemed to be on gold related biulds and that went well with my personal objective. Also, the tech was a gold related one (printing press). Our bank roll started the turn set at about 140 or 150 - somewhere there. It is now over 560. I traded Replaceable Parts for devine right, compass and 120 gold. I also sold some resources (one of them for 13 gold per turn!!).

Had we met all the AIs? I think I met Japan this turn set - but we might have met him before and I just clicked on his name. No one will trade us their map, so we should get some boats out to find where these people live. The typical build suggestion was theater (actually, that isn't right - because our UB replaces the theater) and temples. I usually went with the suggestion by RNGod. I feel that we are being lead towards a glorious, mega-tribal goal here - but I am not sure if I am interpreting the signs correctly.

Our commerce was -12 @ 40% when I started (from memory). I wizzed around the cities and set some of them to max gold, even working the spices but stopping growth in one city). After that, we were at +15 to +20 @ 40%. When Printing Press come it it went to +65, add with my resource deals and it was +85 @ 40%. After I had reached my personal objective, I dialed up the tech rate - we are now basically break even @ 60%.

First of, my personal objective

And will ya look at that. Angle volunteered.

The RNGod smiled upon us, look what he bestowed upon us.

The turn my personal objective was met, was the exact same turn our tribal objective failed. Our punishment

Empty all cities for 4 turns. Lucky we aren't at war.

While our citizens are on strike, we rolled our new tribal objective

And we've got 40 turns to complete it starting at 1697 AD.

We learned Optics and Gundpowder, and have 7 turns left of Steel. But I only got a pix of Optics

Right before my turns ended, Toku came with a request

which I gracefully turned down with a boot.

Here's a subtle hint of how advance HC is

Played 15 turns total (I think. Not sure anymore after the disaster with my abacus and calculator :p ).

Maybe we should help Celts' crusade against the Japanese instead? :mischief:

 Do you know something I don't know?!?!

Also, a request to the players: when you roll personal/tribal objectives, can you copy/paste what the result means so we don't have to go back to the front page (not all of us have them memorized :crazyeye: ). I think berserks01 needed a cultural expansion as a personal objective, but that's just a guess ...

I see the save, but first, I shall contemplate the randomness of my own navel for a few hours. Will probably play this afternoon.

You mean you didn't understand my randomly insane report  Guess I'll have to make it more random so at least some of it will make sense ... sorta ... maybe ... hopefully...

Man, I feel like I just played the Illiad. Total playing time for this set was just under two hours and I only played eight turns. "But we're at peace," you might scream at me. "Yes," I would reply, "for my inherited turn, we were at peace." Thirty-eight screenies later, I write this report, utterly drained of any desire to do so. Never fear, oh RNGod-fearing minions. I will do my duty nonetheless.

And that's where we'll begin. Duty. Up, I step, to worship at the feet of His Holiness, RNGod. First some prayer. "Tell me, Oh Great One, what would You have of Your humble servant?" Then speaketh The Lord. "There shall come a time when the coffers of His minions shall overflow. And it shall be good."

Translation: Increase (1d6)x100 gold

Thus continueth The Lord. "Ten and ninety sheckles. Abundance, for seven fat cows come up from the river."

And it shall be good. "Very well," I respond. "It shall be as You command, oh Great RNGod, of Whose words I am not worthy." For the record, here's where I started.

Thus (annoyingly) continueth The Lord. "And don't forget that other one."

And there arose much confusion amongst the minions. "Tell me, oh Great One, I beg of Thee. What is this 'other one' of which my thoughtless intellect cannot comprehend?"

There then arose a great calamity, as heaven opened up, and his wisdom rained forth. "GET SOMETHING FOR FREE, *******!"

Oh yeah. Shouldn't be too hard. Just have to swing low, right?

Okay, swing a little lower...

Dang gummit! Who's a guy gotta blow to get something for free around here? Okay, we've exhausted our "friends" time to flex a little muscle.

All RIGHT!!! Sweet, sweet victory. And still on my inherited turn. Slam dunk. RNGod loves his minions! Woo Hoo! And just to prove I'm not a total prick, I'll reciprocate.

Okay, business done, time to roll up some more beautiful random goodness.

18 Add (1d6)+10 xp to a single unit

Add 14 XP to a single unit. Time to complete a tribal objective is given by (1d6)x5 + 20

30 turns to give someone an extra 14 XP. Blech. And at the starting line...

We have 278 turns left in the game. So, by 248 turns left (whatever the hell year that is), we need...

...that guy to have 53 XP.

Stage is set. Let's get rocking.

[to be continued]

Clearly, we're going to need to declare on someone. But who?

Oooohhh. Yuck. This'll be fun, eh? Thank you RNGod for sh*tting, once again, on your humble servant. But power isn't everything, right? Maybe we have some awesome tech lead, and just haven't built anything yet. :crosses fingers:

Son of a crap! Looks like we're gonna have to ride rough-style boys. Grab a hold of some hair, tell her that her sister's tits don't sag so much, and hold on for dear life. We're going in! On the off chance, I look to see if we might be close to a Great General, so that we could maybe just kill a couple of little dudes then use GG XP to cheat our way out of this mess.

Nope. 63/90 means actual, full-scale killin' sh_t. So be it....Jedi.

Moderum suderum...

Moderum suderum... Indy!!

(Note, after taking that screenie, I actually changed my mind and attacked from the north instead. Sue me.) Wait! Stop the presses! We have enemy fighters in sector 7-G!

Crap, back-door's open. And none of those cities up there have anything close to defense. So I fiddled...and tinkered...and whipped...and went all sneaky...(and entered world-builder--j/k)..and mustered our forces around and managed to send about six longbows up where we needed 'em. Okay, I feel confident we won't lose any cities on our six.

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET's GET READY TO RRRRRRRRRRRRRRUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!

Notice, that was on my first actual turn. Everything up to that point was on my inherited turn. And I'd already played for like 45 minutes.

[to be continued]
