There should be something like Great Prophets cant enter Enemysland without open borders.
I always hate it when someone like Ethopia spamming tons of Prophets in my land and wont stop.

yeah, you either gotta DoW civs like Ethiopia and take it really far or even extinguish his civ (or any civ that built Borobudor within range of you), or you gotta not care about religion in that game. if you aren't used to playing a game that is totally uninterested in religion, try it out. there are many things about it that are liberating gameplay.
