I just updated mine 5 days ago after 2 years of not updating and it has detected 2 viruses in the last 5 days. I only had one on my comp once i got the virus program.

I'm not sure. Every once in a while, it pops up wanting to scan things. I did it last time and it didn't find anything.

AVG Anti-virus
It gets one every once in a while.
A few days ago it got one from an unreliable site.
You should try it Greadius. I'm very happy with it and it is update constantly without any complications.

I have never found any virus on my home comp. But then, I haven't updated my virus list for quite awhile. Hmm.., will do so tonight I think.

mine has detected about 20 in the last 2 days, my emails has been spammed with viruses... :(

i have norton anti-virus and i let do the automatic update and every week virus scan.
never found a virus.

I use Norton Anti-Virus, and update virus definitions weekly. I also scan my system once a week. I have never found any viruses on my computer, but about once a year I'll encounter a virus in something I download. Norton catches it before it can infect my system. AV protection is an absolute must.

I'm using Trendmicro PC-Cillin. Up till now it's working fine with me, never had a virus on the computer, it was always detected before. I automatically update pattern files about twice per week, but since I once was responsible for virus-protection in the company I worked, I'm perhaps a little paranoid.

It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.

I use Norton and a year and a half ago I found a few virusses coming from a computer at my work, I don't know how that happened as there was a firewall and virusscanner on that computer. I guess the computer-department never updated the virusscanner or firewall..... Anyway, since then I never had a virus again.
