I could go on and keep on voting down Oda, but there are many that also deserve to be criticized. I find if interesting that people mention "sitting down on a throne" as boring, there are a couple that are done right, like Sejong, Atilla and, the one that gets my vote: Pachacuti, its "sitting on the throne" done right, this leaderscreen is really inmersive, you get sucked into the athmosphere of these rugged, exotic land, the bg is great, the lighting is great, the music has good ambient, and Pachacuti himself I find interesting as he is very welcoming, he doesnt need to show off (tho he will give you one hell of death stare if you piss him off), besides this leaderscreen has something unique, a lot of verticality, you really feel atop a mountain, and that makes it memorable.
As for "sitting on the throne" done wrong, there are many culprits, like Elizabeth (agh cant stand her) however, while England at least feels according to what its supposed to represent, Babylon is just, wrong, the throne room is bleak, dark, enclosed, it feels more like a cave, I just dont see how that relates to a civ that its supposed to be all about science and technology (Sejong got it right) and the animation itself is rather boring, sure he is interesting the first time seeing him throw his cup, but thats about it, bland, and doesnt make its civ justice.
