Official Rage Thread

55) This happened to me yesterday. Playing as Ethiopia, and Barbarians had been a pain. Lost my first warrior, lost an Archer to an unseen Horseman running in and finishing him off, lost a Scout to comp bow I couldn't see....

I took some time out of my build order to set three of the four cities to build Horsemen (my preferred anti-barb units: highly mobile for the economical empire). Two turns before they finish, a barbarian Horseman appears out of a camp I didn't know existed. Pillages my source of Horses, cancelling production, and then goes on a pillaging spree as my bows are off clearing an encampment for 2 citystates.

And as the cherry on top of this sundae, one of the city-states cleared the camp right as I got there.

57) The forgotten classical: using a hard sweat built archaeologist on a faraway land, digging and ultimately having 0 space for the artefact...

42) Liberate venice only to hav him buy your allied city state.
This more or less sums up my rage.

I hate Venice AI. I don't think I would EVER revive that idiot. Venice AI is more or less the most annoying guy there is--steal your allied CS's AND removes CS status so you can never get them back. Besides this, he ALWAYS uses MoV to do this. I don't think I've ever seen him use them for gold. At least with Alexander you have a "slim" chance of getting your CS's back.

He MUST target the CS's you are strong allies with. Every game, he trundles hexes and hexes across the board to flip my CS that has like 270 influence, ignoring the ones I'm not allied with a few squares away from himself. This might just be because he avoids CS's he has an alliance with, but it sure feels like he targets MY CS's specifically. Have a nice culture CS that you have 200 influence with? Venice will kill it in a heartbeat. He doesn't even think about letting the useful ones live. There goes all that potential culture for the game. Austria is nicer because it takes her longer to start using the ability, and I can trade for her money to keep her from getting enough. But Venice AI seems to want to steal the whole world. I doubt he uses them for food routes either, he's just an idiot. I would be more happy with venice if he didn't wipe out the CS status...as it is even with war I can never get my ally back... :(

Kill this guy QUICK!

58. Just a little gripe: hate the fact that when I get a great prophet I have to bounce around the screen clicking additional icons before I can get to the screen that lets me found/enhance religion.

59. A single misclick means I just lost my capital from an otherwise 100% defendable and repellable invasion.

God damn it.

Did you check if a spy wasn't in your city ?

Is there a way to check...Besides putting a spy there and catching him...???

He might know I am building it,.....BUT DOES HE KNOW I AM 1 TURN AWAY (So, he should expend his Engineer, or whatever they do)

OK....It just happened to me 3 times in the last 60 Turns, AND...The guy is on another continent, and I haven't even met him yet cause Astronomy hasn't been discovered yet...(I noticed it happens a lot when I am low on gold, maybe it is the AI trying to be nice to me, and giving me money for my production, so I don't go negative)

Very similar to another pet peeve of mine...

60) Attacking a city, I click a land unit to go near, it insteads go into sea on the way and gets insta-killed by city.

Damn that insta-ship transformers thing!

61) I can see an AI settler is going to settle soon and I need to get my scout to the other side so borders dont stop him. I move him through the settler/escort to the other side. click 'next turn' and they settle and it places my scout 3 tiles in the direction i just came from preventing me from making it to the other side of the city.

its only a rage moment because it isnt 100% of the time. and there arent any mtns/lakes/wonders that would explain why it shoves me in the opposite direction.

62) Hits escape to hit "Save Game". Hits Retire. :gripe:

63) Has autosaves every turn so 62 doesn't happen. Forgets I can only have so many different autosaves

This actually happened to me too. Thank god autosaves.

Seriously there shoul be like a "are you sure you want to retire bla bla" thing before it actually makes you retire

ALERT: You have acquired a New Spy (But, your preoccupied by something else)

10 Turns later,
...Look up and see you forgot to assign your Spy (So he has been doing nothing for the last 10 turns)

AGAIN with the stupid movement. i want my archer to move a few spaces along a coast. it will take 2 turns to get where needed. AND IT STILL GOES AND EMBARKS DOUBLING THE TURNS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
i am a little annoyed by this. :wallbash:

64) Being forced to change ideologies due to a combination of having your main luxury banned and having a different ideology become the world ideology.

65) Having all your former "allies" denounce your due to the above.

66) Civs that only want to use the world congress to ban all luxuries .

I Don't know what the AIs fascination is with embarking, your units are more vulnerable in the water, and of course there is always the chance that there is Naval Vessel nearby that can most likely move 4 spaces.

As tedious as it is,...I have been trying to make myself move 1 space at a time.:faint:

67) Playing as Arabia. No horses for camel archers. No iron. No coal. No aluminium

So I figure well at least I will get oil, as that's what Arabia gets.

NO OIL
