[FfH II Art Team Blog]

very good look for a Sheaim warrior. What about a shield with a Sheaim symbol?

I have been shortly experimenting with photoshop on FFH2 theme this afternoon. I decided to upload the result. The topic is The Order. It has a calm atmosphere. I'd like to hear critics.

Do you know about the medievial Order of the Temple (around 1200 A.C.)? There are some beautiful and realsitic drawings from this time about these crusaders. It would add some realistic i.e. historical touch. Maybe you have a look on them. The background looks very good.

Wow, very cool looking units! I can't wait to try them out...

What about your three elohim units you had on a sketch? Will they be in? I'm just curios, I don't want to urge you.
I found them really great and it would be nice to have them in the game.

first, thanks guys!

second, those sketch unitws will actually have to be produced yet. They were just photoshop drawings.
I will play around with the early Sheaim more and then perhaps add a female Elohim Scout and then have a look at with what next to continue.

The Sheaim for me are a different kind of Barbaric than Doviello are.
Doviello resemble more the brute strength, survival of the fittest, plundering drinking and taking women... while Sheaim are more the mean, insane Death worshippers.
well just watch out for the rest.

Nice work seZereth! That Specters really cool to.
I'm looking forward to seeing them in action.

@ Sureshot... this video reminded me of your forum name

you guys said you were redoing a lot of the art right?.. does that include the specialist art too (the mage, merchant, priest, etc)

I don't think anytime soon. The only specialist that really doesn't fit btw is the scientist because it's the only modern guy there. I'd love to be able to have different specialist art for different civs but the question is: is it possible? -and is the effort worth the outcome? Well a replacement for the scientist would probably do for now(and should be fairly easy as it's only a simple button)...so if you like to work on that I won't hold you back. As with all things if we like it it gets in;)

A Doviello warrior would have a lot more facial hair and NOT skinhead, not as slim body. More fat and muscles. More Clothes, i.e. bear hides or wolf hides.

What reminded me of doviello was a skull, but if you look closer it is humanoid skull, while doviello would have bear/wolf skull

small update 18.o6.o7

here is the Sheaim Scout. again, 100% my creation. I will continue with creating tier2... a Sheaim Archer, Horseman and Hunter, after that i will go back to something else... Perhaps Elohim?
And I hope after t2 the difference between Sheaim and Doviello will be clearer (though grey fox pointed it already out really well)

i know this has been answered before on some other thread, but can you post a link to explain how you get blender to import/export files for Civ4? I can handle the code myself, but can't seem to get the plugins to work for Blender.
I used to do alot of modding for Sim City 4, and would like to try my hand with unit design.

Check my sign ;) (Note that this tut have been made with an older version of Blender, but it should be really similar)

Do you think it would be possible to add this big guy to FHH?

Just seems like he would fit in with the world nicely and you already have some dark age of camelot spell effects in the game so you might be familiar with him.

http://camelot.allakhazam.com/Mobs/pics/b04/df-Legion.jpg another shot.

He was always one of my favorites.

I'm not sure if there's a unit that would appropriately go with Legion's appearance... maybe some evil demon that catches souls or is made out of ...sacrificed or eaten... humans. Man I have sick thoughts! :D

What spell effects are from DAoC? I haven't noticed any, although I played it a lot (of course I didn't even remotely think that it would be possible to use those effects in Civ4 :p ).

DaoC is Nif based, as Morrowwind and Dawn of War. Thats where Kael got his Animals (like Gorilla, Bison, tortoise, etc.) and the Bloodthirster and the Minotour and a lot of spell effects. the Art team has not created any effect, they are either from Vanilla or DAoC, the only one who was able to create spells was Chalid, but he disappeared last October :(

And about that Legion... Man, he looks evil and reminds me of my Nightmare/spectre texture in a way :)
