The following model of the Hagia Sophia (and other stuff) is one of my all-time better 3d works.





(in the first pic it is a scale model out of wood or similar)...
I would like to made something out of it for CivIII, yet the camera angle is a bit problematic. Maybe a Wonder.
 
Have you ever considered doing a Constantinople city terrain? Like the Manhattan one Balthasar (I think?) did.
 
No, making an exact scale model of the Hagia Sofia isn't OCD at all... :p

I've been following the progress of the current Iraq-Syrian conflict (I found a great map of it that is updated in real time!) and thought about doing a map of Mosul or Raqqa (for instance - it occurs to me that Fallujah could be used in other scenarios). The problem with that is finding enough buildings online that are done in isometric. When I did Manhattan, I used buildings from a SimCity 3000 site that had lots of user-made content. Unfortunately, that site doesn't exist anymore. So to do another city would require a fresh supply of individual buildings to populate the map. It would be an interesting project, though.
