Civ World Questions Not-Worth-Their-Own-Thread

It doesn't matter if your civ built it first. If another civ builds it, it replaces yours. So if you don't have it, then someone else has it.

As for improving merchants, Great Generals are the +5% gold GP, so the more Generals you have, the more productive they'll be. Likewise, having a market or bank nearby will boost them. And until you get Codes of Law and build a village green, merchants, just like artists and scientists, drop off at the palace, so you want them to be close to that. As such, you'll want to increase the size of your palace if you don't have CoL yet.

Hi there - can I just confirm my understanding of battle - if you beat another Civ, you get their Wonders and Techs, and if they're of the right size, you get an Era win, right?

Do you get anything for losing a battle against another Civ? Any Tech gain?

And do you get any Pop for winning battles against another Civ, or just Barbarians?

Cheers!

Yes, when your civ wins, you gain the loser's wonders and techs, as well as an era win if they're the minimum size to trigger one.

The loser doesn't get anything for losing. Why would they? They lost.

And the only thing you get for winning against another civ is the MVP gets a military medal and becomes Defense Minister. Only barbarians net you +1 population or food when you defeat them.
