SloMo Mod, Maintance too high

So I'm using the SloMo Science Mod, which increases science by 400%, because I love staying in the same era for several hundred turns.

I'm in turn 235 (Standard Speed) Classical period, but I found that the Unit maintenance cost is too high because of the number of turns I'm into. I'm not making any gold in the classical period, and it's costing me around 2.2g to field one unit in the classical period.

Is there anyway of reducing the overall maintenance cost to 25%, since i'm playing at 400% science needed.
