Best Aztec start

No screenshot, but I got an insane start like that recently with post-patch Japan, just a ludicrous amount of ocean resources available to Kyoto (and nabbed God of the Sea, obviously) to get a population of 20 or more by around 1 A.D.

Nevermind - just checked my old game save on that and I was off by about 500 years, but the point is that post-patch Japan also has incredible capacity for population growth if you luck out on your ocean resources.

As of bwn, unemployed citizens are no longer counted as specialists, and get none of the bonuses related to specialists. Better to TP over all your farms at that point.

Actually, this isn't true of the Statue of Liberty. Are you sure this is true about Civil Society/Universal Suffrage?

recently started an aztec game and rolled a fantastic starting position.

Spoiler :

the settler spawned originally at hill east to the two wheat tiles, but to evade the snow and tundra tiles I moved tow turns south and found a really good settling spot for aztec: 3 wheat, 6 whopping gold, 1 marble, 1 ivory, 5 lake tiles, 6 desert hills for petra, and a mountain
