Ethnicae - Mac / PC compatible Mod

As previously said, I used the meshes of the fantastic Berber units from Bakuel to make some other units ( khmer and ottoman mostly )

So, credits go to him for these !!!

I only texturized some of them and worked on the faces to get these units :)

Here are the Sumer units. Of course you will recognize the great units from Bakuel ;)

In addition, I worked on Nifskope to get the classic sumer head on some game units and I'm quite happy to have successed it for some of them :) so, a special thanks to Ambrox who gave me advices and a file I study enough to understand some stuff about heads in Nifskope ! :) The fantastic 3 men chariot comes from his ages units !

Related to the Sumer crossbowman, you'll notice I used a chokonu weapon : my mistake ... I did it as a test and forgot it until now ... So, the crossbow will be placed instead in the next update :rolleyes: but I'm quite proud anyway of this unit ! ;)

About the archer, as I was not satisfied with models around, I finally decided to work on the Skirmisher model to get a Sumer javeliner instead of a classic archer ...

Same thing about Persia units ... In addition of Bakuel ones, based mostly on Oromo warrior ( except the horseman ), I made somes with the Peltast head :)

The pikeman shield is from Bakuel.

I'm not a specialist of weapons but I currenly studying shields in history and hope create my owns. I began with some Africa ones. A work in progress so ;)

Man, you can do whatever you want with these units for sure ! I love working on my mod but I don't do units just for the mod but for all Civ community :lol:

Yes : the update is online now.

About the persian warrior : not really team coloured. He suits greeny stuff and Sumer one suits red stuff. That's the only difference I'm afraid.
 
As I previously said in a far far away post ;) I used the wizard Bakuel Berber meshes to create too some of the Khmer and Korea units ...

I'm not a huge fan of the traditional conic hat for military units but for instance, it gives to the units of my mod a diversity which suits the goal.

I begin to study with a fellow 3D meshes on a 3D software and my goal is to create some new meshes for Asia units ( for example ) and of course, mess all this in Nifskope ;)

So, a sloooooooow work in progress indeed ! :lol:

Here are some mounted units. Except some of them which were a complete work ( both unit and horse ), it's mostly a work on horses and horses robe to render more impressive knights and more accurate cuirassier/horseman horses ... Sometimes, it's just a detail like head or helmet ... Well, hope you'll like them !

This is a work in progress and an unfinished job since I didn't work on ALL horses, knights, cuirassiers, horsemen, etc ... My apologizes, it will be done on Ethnic Mix More next update !




The model is Danrell one. I just redraw the textures of the knight and create a 256x256 texture for the horse and robe ...

For this one, I just put a head on the body knight who comes from the great 3 Kingdoms mod.

I did nothing on this except a head replacement in Nifskope : both come from The 3 Kingdoms mod.




Just replace the shield and create a 256x256 texture for the horse and robe. the Teutonic cross is too on the robe ( not so visible on the picture )




Nothing except the horse color and texture ...




A more complete job for the India knight both on unit and horse. I searching to render the beauty of such unit in these times ... Maybe one of the unit I prefer !




All parts of this unit come from The 3 Kingdoms mod. I only created a new texture for the helmet, based on this picture :

Nothing to do on this fantastic Berber unit from Bakuel except the horse ( both color and new 256 texture to make the knight more visible !




New texture ( real kimono textile ), new head, new horse, all in 256x256 to render the details more accurate ...




Bakuel body mesh, I only replaced the head ( the one I already worked on for my Viking axeman ) to make a more sensible difference between the knight and the horseman and a new horse in 256x256

At last, some ethnic diversity cuirassiers to replace the one from the game I don't like very much ...
