[Religion and Revolution]: Adding Another European Nation

I've removed the extra line in "ParseLeaderTraits".
Here's my changes
Spoiler :

Rather than old version:
Spoiler :

Is this ok? I still have to add a little space...

Ah ok, now I understand. :)

Robert, your changes were probably useless ...

Currently we do not have Civilization Traits for the Leaders.
But this will probably change again today.

When I will put back Civilization Traits, then the old Variant, where you currently see the empty line after the staring brackets, will be filled.
(The "NEWLINE"s will be useful then.)

But yes, a "Space" between "Leader Traits" / "Civilization Traits" and the actual traits would look better.

Everything would look ok then.

Edit:

Simply commit your changes, when you are done and I will take a look after I have reworked the Traits.

Is it possible to play with all 6 European Nations in the same game? I always have only 4. I think I should be able to set up the start of the game to play with all 6 but I can't work it out.

I am not sure how much work is involved but can I suggest more consistent use of colours for the European Nations.

For example, currently Denmark units have a green banner with a white cross, and their cultural area is green. But in the FF screen their flag is red with a white cross, with white text for the name.

The French, Spanish and Dutch all seem to have consistent cultural areas / flags / banners.

It is the other 3 - England, Denmark, Portugal that I wonder about.

It would make more sense to me for the Portuguese to have the green cultural area, with their green flag. I am not sure of their banner, but I believe it is similar to their flag.

That leaves Denmark and England - one to go Red, one to go white.
Perhaps England to go back to White (as they were in Vanilla) but with the sexy new Union Jack flag and banner.
Then Denmark with a Red cultural area, red + white cross flag and banner.

Of course. :)
Start a "Custom Game" and set all those Nations.

England -> White (instead of Red)
Denmark -> Red (instead of Green)
Portugal -> Green (instead of White)

... :think: ...

Sounds good to me. :)
(It would really fit better to the flags.)

@team:

Is everybody ok with that suggestion ?

@Schmiddie:

If the team agrees, would you do the changes ?

Of course. :)

Do you mean that screen where I pick which Nation I want to be, and the difficulty level?

I have tried to use that, by adding the nations individually. But then it seems to leave out some of the native tribes once the game starts up. It's like once I start naming individual nations I have to make sure I name all of them (including the Natives).

(Not going the "Quick Start"-way.)

Of course. :)

The reason is extremely simple:
We do not yet have a mapsize that includes all Nations as standard ...
(This will change.)

As Ray mentioned it can be set by the worldsize; by iDefaultPlayers and iDefaultNativePlayers in XML/gameinfo/civ4worldinfo.xml:

Thanks Orlanth, that's good to know - I've clipped it and saved it for later.
I just want to use the default SVN files for now while we are still testing.

As I said, once we have finished our next 3 planned Native Nations,
I will implement the new mapsize which will use all Nations. :thumbsup:

I saw that the Danish troops are currently using the dutch uniforms...

If it is ok, I will change them into historic Danish uniforms...maybe like this:

No. 3:

or one of this

Maybe the white ones since their color is now white, but really whatever is easiest for you.

The troops aren't "white" now, because they already use their complete own graphic.

The normal colonists/worker are partly white, because they use the assigned color "white" (CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml) for parts of their clothes like all other European nations using their color.

THIS color (and therefore the biggest part of the units) can only be changed by changing the entry in the CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml. But I currently don't understand the problem with the color. The Danish are the only ones which are partly white now...so they differ from the other nations :dunno:

Hi guys,

As you know, we have switched colours of Denmark and Portugal.
(So it would fit better to their flags.)

Portugal: White -> Green
Denmark: Green -> White

I had realized that the missioning crosses of Denmark did not fit to their new colour "White".
(Missioning crosses of all other nations look good.)

This came because we have also switched missioning crosses between Denmark an Portugal.
(Portugal's original colour was "Purple" before it was changed to "White".)

Now the missioning cross of Denmark is "White with Grey border" and should thus fit to the Player colour "White".

Old Missioning Cross Denmark
New Missioning Cross Denmark
