Mod List clean up

Looking for information on how to clean up my mod list. I'm currently working on my own mod and every time I add something I change the version number on the mod. Now though, every time I load the game, i have multiple versions of the mod, but with the different versions. Just wondering how to clean up the list so it doesn't have the old versions anymore. Even completely removing the mod from the Civ 5 mods folder won't remove the old versions from the list.
