Does CIV V run right and run well on Windows 8 platform?

I have windows 8 and it runs smoothly, I haven't played large or huge maps though. But I would be surprised, if large and huge maps would trouble win 8 more than win 7.

I'm running a fairly new laptop in Win8 and it's fine (well, when you get used to it !!) But Civ is fine in "Desktop" mode.

I also run this on windows 8 but I use the dx10 dx11 mode but it recommends windows 8 touch enabled.My gaming laptop is not touch enabled so does any body know if it would be better to use this mode?

These recommendations are dumb, don't follow them.
They even recommend stuff, which your computer can't do, just due to the fact that it would theoretically look/work better if your computer could do it.

Works fine!! Just finished a Huge map in 600 ish turns on emperor level without any technical problems
