Civilisation 5 Not Loading

Hi all, today i went to play civilisation 5 but it gets the loading screen and simply stops working, i have to close it via the task manager, i have tried multiple troubleshooting techniques, i have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and i have updated the drivers, but still it doesn't get past the loading screen

Have you verified the local cache under the game properties>local files (tab)>verify local files (option). Do that and if it downloads a file keep doing it until it says "All files successfully verified".
