Please, oh please, oh please! Every PBEM and Hot Seat player I have communicated with so far (and there have been dozens) have had this same request as myself. The pace of these games is slow enough that we would like to have an option to enable all Single Player game elements while we play. I'm referring to things such as Wonder Movies, Research Notifications (with dialogue), etc, etc.
Obviously for HotSeat games, the option would affect every player. In PBEM games, it could either be that the host determines whether these features will be active, or each players' options determine whether they will have these features active on their turns. I don't really care! Just do it however you want, but there is no reason why PBEM and HotSeat players should have the Full Civilization IV experience withheld from them when they play these games. It seems just to be an oversight, and I'll bet it would be fairly easy to fix. Please just consider it.
