[MoM] Masters of Madness

Sorry for missing in action guys, I had to spend the weekend by visiting my parents :p

I'm downloading the gamebooster, I hope it will work some miracle for me too! :D

Ok this is in two parts because i have too many screenies.

PART A

Perpentach smiled wickedly as he watched his glorious army march toward the Elohim Capital, the city of Cahir Abbey. The imminent show would begin with fireworks!

Firstly, to soften the defenses a little, a volley of cannon ball was fired from a nearby frigate.
Spoiler :

Then, in prevision of the incoming hostilities, reinforcements were sent from the nearby city of Umbracle.
Spoiler :

Perpentach also profited of the current golden age and made his whole empire adopt slavery. This was at the cost of 0 social disturbance. Everyone just kept partying, except the Elohim of course....
Spoiler :

Strength of will.
Spoiler :

Then right after another cannonball volley, fireballs aplenty rained death on the defenders further reducing their defense strength. Spells dealt massive damage and some archers died from the effect alone.
Spoiler :

This did not prevent some the remaining defenders from still being stubbornly entrenched. A row of green and expendable rookies was sent on a suicide charge. While several of the youngsters, mostly horsemen, died. Some survived and in the end our elite troops just casually slaughtered anything still alive.
Spoiler :

In the meantime further to the south, near the land of the offensive Bannor, our most elite of hunter felt like going for some big game hunting. The spyrrot flew overhead and confirmed that this hunter was ready to take on this kind of game, but the plan was to ambush the beast not attack it head on.
Spoiler :

The hunter went camping on the hill full of the glorious gold and the stupid Dino attacked from across the river and fell head first in the trap. There will be meat for a whole week!
Spoiler :

Perpentach these days was cursing alot when talking about Lady Ethne, he then had the thought that this could be a viable alternative to fireball.
Spoiler :

Inspired by the recent and successful frigate bombardments, Perpentach ordered his scientists to devise a mean of bombarding from the land.
Spoiler :

Then the glorious golden age is ended. So perpentach sacrifices some clown in his capital to start a new one just then.
Spoiler :

The city of Inishbofin was the next target on Perpentach' conquest agenda. This was the most strongly defended city of the elohim, with an actual army of varied troops, archers, rangers, berserkers and a legion of mages.
The same procedure as before was used, Frigate bombardment, fireball x4 but then the wrath of the overlords was called upon and a gigantic tsunami broke upon the helpless defenders.
Spoiler :

Then a second one.
Spoiler :

Then the assault began, the amount of defenders was so large that after the first round of attacks a couple of them were still alive and the capture was postponed to the next turn. However the city then fell and a remarkably low amount of attackers were lost in the whole process. This is also where the Balseraph Mimics started to shine. A good bunch of them were successful in combat and a group of elite mimic was starting to form.
Spoiler :

Following on next post

Part B

We feel that Auric is in a bad situation so we sell him some of our precious technology, here you go Auric, hunting. With this maybe your people can finally eat.
Spoiler :

Then we found the city of Sant Mapfre to harvest the precious gold.
Spoiler :

While doing a boat ride we meet a new friend.
Spoiler :

The next military target is the city of Ballinasloe. It is very weakly defended compared to the last one. Alongside the usual fireballs and cannonballs, a single tsunami is used, and the city falls like a a pile of domino. No casualties on our side.
Spoiler :

Then a pretty cool event helps us get closer to our goal of obtaining Harlequins. :D
Spoiler :

Glens of Killybegs. A pretty funny name for a city. But what then happened to it is even more fun.
Spoiler :

Then those filthy tree huggers DEMAND that we stop trading with the vile Bannor. Of course he hate the Bannor but we are not going to let a bunch of weakling wood elves tell us what to do. We request money as compensation for the insult.
Spoiler :

And just look at what our privateer found when sailing the northern waters at the east of the Elohim. There is meat for a whole month in this one.
Spoiler :

Finally we have animal handlings, time to get some Harlequins.
Spoiler :

Of course, no good deeds shall go unpunished...
Spoiler :

Then apparently Auric took an arrow to the knee... Those Luchiurp or whatever you spell it probably are probably to blame.
Spoiler :

BTW, just saw this scene while spying with the parrot, looks like the Bannor love to settle dangerous places.
Spoiler :

But wait! Its not over yet! Our conquering army has now reached the city of Slane, which is but a village. It falls with minimal resistance.
Spoiler :

And lets take a look at the victory screen.
Spoiler :

Ok so i made some careful use of the mimics as to not lose them, some green ones did die, mostly those with crappy promotions ( Because yeah, i had sort of mutated them  .
However one the the green ones that i mutated got freaking lucky and basically his mutations gives him +2 strength when attacking. I renamed him Epic Mimic, and this one is to be cherished :D Most of the mimic reached their specialization level. I made about half of them attack specialist and the other half are Avengers or whatever you call the class that makes them attack the weakest troop in a stack.

Also I could not upgrade our hunters to Harlequins it seemed? Is this supposed to not work? Or maybe it needs to be done in a city with specific building like for horsmen or IDK...

Anyway, next player will have a huge fun with the elite army that we have. Lets finish the Elohim then go right for the Bannor. And dont mind the deficit budget, spoil of war can works wonders!
My approach with looting cottages was to loot them back to level 1 but not completely destroy them.

Spoiler :

Also building that city there probably wasent the best idea Sabathiel ever had.
Spoiler :

Another dino comes for us, he eats the hunter that was in the city(!) but then just leaves.
Spoiler :

On the non dino front we are doing better.
The defenders more or less willingly join us, leaveing their friend to fend for himself.:assimilate:
Spoiler :

He dident do very well.
Spoiler :

The Bannor realy are not so different from us, Sabathiel is allways up for a good joke.
Spoiler :

Strange new worlds, courtesy of the maelstrom.
Spoiler :

We FINALY get the Necronomicon!

My quest is complete, the silly war that she started has come to an end.
This demands a celebration. ^^

I am realy not good at keeping those guys alive.
Maybe Sephi should include a dino slayer promotion.

Considering his timezone that might take a while though, maybe you should go first?

There is dragon slayer promo, maybe it works for the dinos?

The only way to roam the wilderness with your hero hunters without having them eaten is to micro them with love and care :p
I will usually scan the surroundings with the Hawk parrot every turn and try to keep them out of harms way by taking into account the movement points of nearby critters. A 90% success rate is too dangerous for a hero without second chance. I normally Only accept >98% for my high level units.

In my last game, my best hunter slayed Acheron the red dragon and he was not a Ranger yet. But he was about lev 15-16. :p

With the Elohim finally gone, we can now focus one the Bannor and their Mercurian buddies.

Loki goes to a city that will need his tricks more, we want those pastures :D

And we settle another great merchant in Coombe View, may Mammon bless us with foresight...

We get some more harlequins, their taunting presence will help us on the battlefield :mischief:

We also get some archers trained to garrison our northern cities, and move our armies towards the next target.

And we purchase slaves, to have them providing entertainment in our new cities.

Our devotion to the Overlords shows its good omen... soon Hemah will be around :D

and Saverous finds an amulet that will allow him to breathe underwater :goodjob:

We finish researching Necromancy and Mithril Working! :D

Our golden age ends, which just doesn't seem right. Let's throw some proper celebration for our victories past and future!

We quickly research Public Schools and Military strategy, Art and Engineering soon to follow...

Our mages should research Control of the Elements I-II, we want arid realm to build trade posts :scan:

Hemah is born, go take a nap in the lands of the Bannor buddy... :mischief:

And another great bard is born, he spreads great legends increasing our global culture... this will bring new people to our hinterlands and we'll be able to build more improvements for them to work :D

We also decide to build the Caminus Aureus, which will allow us to gather some mithril from the depths of the earth without having to travel to some distand land swarming with dragons

This weirdo will be a godsend... we'll use him to build the Winter Palace in Miro, providing us with tons of culture to push the Bannor borders back AND greatly reduce the maintenance cost for our cities overseas :goodjob:

Our great commander follows Hemah overseas...

And we adopt Military State to give us a nice edge on our soon to be victims... :scan:
