To begin, this is on the Noble difficulty, Terra map selection, everything else random, including my civilization. So I have no idea who will be with me, or how big the map will be. (This is Warlords, if it matters.)
In the beginning there were only nomads. Wanderers. Vagabonds. Nothing to call themselves until a leader arose...
The Mongols. Such a name to drive fear and awe as an empire would rise. Even the neighbors helped by donating gold and sharing maps to drive the cause.
Exploring of the land continued, until such a fellow was met:
Peace was easily granted, for friends would be of use in times to come, against others that would threaten. But such illusions of friendship were not worthwhile as the Mongols would come to find out.
Through reports of scouts, it seemed that the land they found themselves was not that large, and in fact, if reports could be believed, Caesar only had one city. His priests, through the wonder of Stone Henge, confirmed the scout's findings by stating the smallness of their world. Genghis, thinking he could easily overpower Caesar led a few military units of Warriors to squash what was assumed the be the puny Greek empire.
But alas. The warriors fell against a barrage of arrows; the resulting massacre caused Genghis to panic, for fear of retribution. Some of the local people, wanting to avenge themselves of their beloved warriors were taken and settled a city close to a supply of horses and marble. There they served as a base, for when new units could arise; the archer, the axemen, and eventually the swordsman. It was fortuitous actually to have a supply of iron so close to the capital city, in order to send the new swordsmen out to conquer.
