End of Empires - N3S III

I've got a request for you North King. Could you please make a list of who's playing and as who it would really help. If you really don't want to do it I will do it. If you do this I wouldn't mind if the stats were put up tomorrow.

Arkage - Neverwonagame3
Arta Xorti - Toltec
Bahra - Jason The King
Bosrttia - ~Darkening~
Duroc - Vertinari118
Ederru - Haseri
Farou - Lord_Iggy
Ferman - Justo
Hamakua - Birdjaguar
Hu’ut - lord_joakim
Liealb - Kal'thzar
Lutto - flyingchicken
Nahsjad - erez87
Opulensi - Yui108
Palmyrian - Slavic Souix
Salagron - Abaddon
Satarai - Thlayli
Seshweay - Masada
Trilui - conehead234
Uggor - Ninja Dude

North King, can I secure a guarentee that me and Masada won't get story penalties from the sacking of Arkage and Seis and the like?

NOTE: The stories apply on old draft (in which I was fighting all the Seshweay) if North King rules they were united for the period despite Masada's protests.

What, besides the fact that the cities will end up getting sacked? :p

The Seshweay are not united, really; Seis is merely the closest thing to a hegemon. They are all aligned against the Arkage, however, and don't hesitate to help each other in that endeavor. Honestly speaking I haven't read the stories yet (need to write orders for another NES first), so I'm a little at a loss as to what you're all talking about. :p

I meant that since you are supposed to be giving story bonuses, not penalties, that we won't be penalised. They can simply count as the sackings of cities you referred to in the first update.

Oh, certainly. Negative story bonuses won't be happening.

Nice update NK, and maps too!

North King, how advanced is Krato compared to the rest of the world? Could you give a little background on the technology there?

Also, did those families I sent south do anything? Or did they just get absorbed by the local population?

Krato isn't technically all that far behind the rest of the world in basic knowledge, however, in practice, a lot of known innovations go unused. Your people know about bronze; most of the elite have bronze tools and even ornaments, but some in the countryside still use stone axes to clear their lands and stone knives for everyday use. Irrigation is known, but not widely practiced (which is part of why the civilization has yet to spread from the river). Stone for building, too, is obviously well understood, but stone is scarce on the river, and most people prefer to use wood in construction: cheap and effective. And so on.

Is there anything in particular you wanted to know about?

Most of them came back. The terrain isn't all that different, but it's not particularly inviting unless you want to adopt a hunting lifestyle (crops haven't taken root there), and those that did pretty much can't be counted as part of the main body of Uggor tribes anymore.

How much are elephants used in everyday life? How numerous are they? I'm thinking about using them in other fields besides military. But I'd like to know how much my people can use them before I get any crazy ideas. Also, how big are they?

They aren't heavily used -- the technique of taming them was only really successful recently. Those that are used are pretty much put to your basic tasks of moving around heavy objects and acting as beasts of burden; nothing particularly strange. The number that have been tamed is in the dozens, currently; the number that are available, of course, is in the thousands, if not the tens of thousands. They're about as big as your average elephant; I'm not sure what you're looking for here. :p They're not Oliphaunts, and they're not pygmies, either.

Well, when I was asking about size I was thinking about have howdahs on the elephants. I didn't want them to be too small to cary them on their backs. Could they possible be used as a tool for agriculture? Like having a plow behind them?

With a little development, you can do that.

Could they possible be used as a tool for agriculture? Like having a plow behind them?

I'd suggest not doing that. :p

Would a semi-arid based culture find it easier or harder on a savanah?

I'd suggest not doing that.

I'll show you! I'll be the bestest elephant farmer ever!

Well, I guess I'll just stick with hauling things and crushing things. That's what elephants seem to be good at doing. For now.:shifty:

I must have missed this:

To: The Council of Chiefs of the Uggor
From: Jalin Nak of the Duroc

Of course you can but I reverse the right to ask you to leave my lands if I feel threaten. If you refuse to leave when asked my Falas will escort you back to your lands. Is this agreeable.

This is agreeable. We'll try not to make you feel threatened.
