And from the tragic, to the comedic, the "newspaper" known as Bild (some pitiful rag next to which England's The Sun looks like an intellectual document) also published some bilingual (greek/german) article about the greek elections.

I rather like this, btw were not some editors of Bild on trial for harming Greek-German relations some months ago?

Yeah, because you have stupid legal concepts like "insulting the dignity of the Greek nation" or whatever.

Not that I'm defending BILD in any way here. They really are moronic hatemongers without a conscience. Still no reason to put anyone exercising the freedom of press on trial.

Conquer Iberia as the Moors, dominate Asian trade as the Tamils, or resist colonization as the Kingdom of Kongo.

But sure, just stick to your one-liner.
I got that, yeah. I simply think that "FTD is run by a shadowy cabal of crypto-Bolsheviks conspiring to mobilise the apparently limitless spite of the Greek masses to attain a very slightly more favourable result in future elections" is reaching just a little bit. "Author is daft; commenter are also daft" seems to me a lot simpler, and has the advantage of both satisfying Hanlan's razor and allowing us to avoid the fuss of speculating as to whether the reanimated brain running the cabal is Lenin's or Trotsky's.

Ok, although i am sure you jest about this being (i mean what is picked out of your witty comment- and i mean that as true- ) the case in regards to Syriza. It is, of course, improbable (to say the least) that foreign centers want anything good for Syriza for Syriza's sake. But it is not as improbable that some do want to mess with the election (which already is messed up). And a win by Syriza, or a very borderline result, would indeed mess things up even more.

On other news: some polls show a 10% vote for Golden Dawn Lets see what happens. Of course even with 10% they are unlikely to be in government, but it gives them more legitimacy than their previous 7%.

I don't think that concept should protect tabloids from lobotomising entire nations*. Just saying.

(Edit: so that we're clear, I mean that tabloids contribute a great deal to the overall decrease in intellectual capacity of the society in which they operate. I'd have them banned, or at least severely restricted in the amount of filth they can legally publish.)

I dunno about other newspapers but the Economist endorses candidates in most major elections.

Looks like a surprisingly comfortable win for ND. They could form a coalition with PASOK. Great to see the parties who managed to ruin the country governing Greece once more.

Although ND won, it is clear that the majority of the voters are against the bail-out in its current form. So they cannot realistically continue the same thing.
I remain cautiously hopeful due to some few quotes by Samaras, and Hollande's position on the bail-out.

Greece might actually have a chance at recovery now that the conservatives won.

Yeah, as soon as a party self-identifies as conservative their economic ideas are automatically sound

Do we have seat projections already? These weird extra seats for the leader make percentages rather meaningless.

So, any chance for a stable parliamentary majority of ND-Pasok?

Yeah, although they appear to be considering to also take in the Democratic Left for greater stability and legitimacy.

How this is going to play out is going to be very interesting. And very depressing. Economic colonization, ho!
