hi, just downloaded it and its only showing 2 online games, is it the same for everyone else?

There are informal organizations, steam groups and such, which form online games from a disparate "pool of players" rather than open, first-come-first-serve lobby games. As for that lobby, yes it's possible at a given time only 2 games are available to "join".

is it possible to change lobbies? i downloaed it with steam surely theres a way to find more games

You should ask in the multiplayer forum here for ways to hook up with the "NQ" (no quit) crowd, or maybe someone wants to volunteer that info here. They are a group, based on a premise it's dishonorable to quit a game unless you're obviously losing very badly, as in having lost your capitol, and they form games daily just off friend-list-invites.

edit: you can also host a game. For best results I recommend Quick pace, ancient age, small map ( 6 players ), pangaea or continents, with enabled turn timer, fast combat, fast piece movement.

No taking turns. Just enable simultaneous turns. It's much faster than taking turns.
