The new multiple leader concept of CCM offers the possibility to set different leaders for different eras in Civ 3. With this methode in CCM Rome changes to Italy and Babylon to Iraq.

As there is a "leaderhead-gap" for Greece in era 2, I´m wondering what about combining Greece with Byzantium in era 2. So the greek civ would look the following:

Era 1: Greece: Leader Demosthenes
Era 2: Byzantium: Leader Theodora
Era 3 and 4: Greece: Leader Metaxas

Would this be a good idea or would it be better to let Demosthenes be the leader of Greece for era 1 and 2? I´m especially interested in opinions of civers, who are born or live in that region. What do you feel and think if Byzantium is the era 2 of Greece?

I always saw Byzantium as the medieval version of Greece.

These are two voices with a very heavy weight for me. But I encourage other civers also to say their opinion. :)

I agree with YP and Varwnos. The Crusaders always spoke of the Byzantines as "griffos", that is "Greeks".

Let's see - Byzantines spoke Greek, perpetuated Greek culture, and formed the Greek Orthodox Church. I'd agree that they're pretty Greek. ;)

Thank you all for your input. :) So Byzantium will be era 2 of Greece in CCM.
