I have Civ IV patched to 1.74 and BTS to 3.17.
I wanted to join a Direct IP game with other players who just have Civ IV (1.74) which I was able to do successfully, in so far as I could connect to the game and play my turn.
However, on each occasion I connected, I received a warning that "the version of our game files do not match our hosts" but could still connect and play.
I was able to get rid of this warning by uninstalling Beyond the Sword but that isn't the solution I want.
I thought BTS kept its files seperate from vanilla Civ IV so what does installing BTS and patching it to 3.17 do to cause this warning when playing a pitboss game in vanilla?
Also, is the warning most likely harmless, since I can still connect and play, or will it cause problems at a later stage in the game?
