I started in May 1940, on the medium level of difficulty. At first, things went rather well. I did lose all of West Europe except Dunkirk, but this was to be expected, and I had managed to sell some of the improvements in the cities before they were captured, and got some big bucks. Then I reinforced Dunkirk, hoping to snipe at the Germans from this outpost. The plan went well, My fighters killed theirs (one hurricane killed 26 stacked units!!!), I killed a general with my matilda II's, everything was great.
Then the trouble's started.

In Africa, the Italians swarmed at me. Using my tanks, I managed to destroy a force about four times my size. But they kept on sending more tanks, and eventually I had to withdraw from El Alemain.
Things went poorly in Greece too. I captured Tirane. But then mainland Greece was assaulted by a German battleship and cruisers. Then a swarm of 10 Heinkels descended upon Greece, killed everything. They took Crete too.

And the main fault was in England. Axis air attacks were destroying units and causing problems (Ulapool was destroyed), but I was able to handle the situation. Then, in turn three, I get a message that the Germans have launched Sea Lion, even though the Royal Navy was intact and guarding the channel, and the RAF was still dominate. The Germans had just barely taken Paris this turn, and still had the rest of France to conquer.

Instead, eighteen German tanks "magically" appeared in England, and they attacked before I could even move my units. They took Plymouth, Cork, York, and Edinburgh. I counter-attacked and retook all the cities, but I lost a unit of units dependent on those cities, and a lot of infrastructure. "Fine, but I still hold all of England, I can still hold out."

Then, in October, I get the message "Germans send reinforcements." Once more, eighteen units descend upon my cities. Since my pillboxes had been destroyed in the previous attack, and since they had surprise, they overran my cities, taking half of England in the first turn. I had nothing to counter with. At this point, I gave up in disgust.

1. This was "medium", not hard. It was a big step up from "easy". They outnumbered 5:1 on the ground, 10:1 in the air, and those two "invasions" just killed me. To Marko, is something wrong, and the program launched "hard?" If this was not "hard", I don't know what could be.

Sigh...

Well I played this on hard too...

And I am shocked to hear you had the same bloody sealion invasion as you!

On hard, the german cities are insanely defended...PLUS killing many of their units just makes it worse for you...kill panzer 3s and they get a ju88! let them attack and you get munched by the crap defense values of your inf.

The italians did el alamain in B4 I got my fleet bombarding -cleared sooo many enemies.

In fact I got pissed off when sealion happened...byebye my army as they attacked first. My navy would have prevented a landing, my airforce too! BUT THEY JUST APPEARED!

the designer of TSFE is a fool IMHO and I will hopefully soon do something myself with what could be an execellent scenario.

Problems:
1. events files illogical...you kill his general he gets a new one...go figure!
That is one of many...for instance I could setup dunkirk properly!

2. areas strength way off realistic value...e.g greece as axis! how many uk armour!

3. atlantic battle...hmmm don't see any ships in atlantic apart from bships!

4. Norway near impossible to win quickly...Narvik held 4 ages.

5. too few railroads...thus worthless rtl and took ages to do any offensives...I would have railroads that improve speed, but not to infinite movement.

From what the dude used from ansteig, he didn't change a VAST amount in terms of making a great axis campaign...

In many respects of playability and even realism (WHY THE HELL DOES SPAIN TAKE ME AND MY ENEMIES ON? THe brits invaded the whole of spain when I germany).

The surrender of france...like WHEN????? vichy france still warred with me...so i killed her THOUGH MOROCCO IS HUGE with cities miles away from anywhere.

hitler launches sealion...britain stands zero chance.
