A Tale of Common Things

OOC: spryllino, as you can see in the stats, I have made very good use of your loan, so could you help me with the Bavarian firms?

OOC: Also, will you accept the Bavarian troops back to Bavaria? Greece had enough of their help. I will build a Greek army.

OOC: aww no news for New Granada?

nice update anyways though :D

Would you be willing to exchange most-favored-nation trading status? Lowering the trade barriers between our nations should help both of our economies.

King Ludwig of Bavaria believes that his son Otto, King of Greece, is mistaken in undertaking his current policy with regards to the government and constitution of Greece. We also understand that it is planned that these Bavarian troops in Greece will be sent back to Bavaria soon: we likewise believe that he is mistaken in wishing to entrust his safety to the mob rather than to our excellent troops.

Nevertheless, it is indisputably the prerogative of the King of Greece to act in this manner if he so desires. All these troops are to be considered to be reincorporated, upon returning to Bavaria by transport to be arranged by King Otto, directly and immediately from the Greek army into the Bavarian army. They should at all times act according to the demands of military discipline, in particular including not attempting any form of action against the King whose protection is their duty as long as they are members of the Greek army, however unwisely he should act.

We furthermore expect our loan to the Greek government to be paid promptly and according to the stated terms.

From Greece
To Bavaria:

The Greek government will pay the loan according the terms already accepted and hopes that it will continue to have good relations with Bavaria. Our political reforms in no way do they mean any change in the relationship between our two countries.

To the courts of Europe:

King Otto wishes to marry. Is there any princess that wants to marry him?

The Danish Virgin Islands look as though they're British. Could you check the colour?
Also, will the Danish Gold Coast and the French, Portuguese, and Danish colonies in India be represented?
Finally, the British didn't control or dispute that much of Maine- this map would probably be more appropriate.

Still waiting for an answer. :)

Never mind, wrong thread.

Could the Paris Government please provide an update to His Majesty's government about its intentions relating to the Treaties of 1814 and the Concert of Europe?

Minister Plenipotentiary for His Majesty's Government to the Kingdom of France, John Stuart Mill.

His Majesty's Government is concerned that the Mexican Government feels the need to normalise relations and asks the Mexican Government to explain when this supposed break in relations occurred.

We were referring to the British banks decision, based on the British Consul-General to Mexico's recommendations, to limit investment in Mexican project.

Regardless, Mexico's legislature is pleased with the current state of trade between Britain and our nation.

His Majesty's Government is not one and the same with the banks of this country and their decisions remain their own. If British Banks decided to refrain from dealing with Mexico then it is up to the Mexican Government to create such conditions as might interest British Banks to invest. Finally, if the Mexican Government wishes to make an issue of this matter it is best bought up with the banks in question and not with the His Majesty's Government.

The Government of the Republic of Texas wishes to confirm British export policy in regards to Latin America.

So far, we have only the word of the Mexican government that it has opened exports to Mexico. Can London confirm this change in Great Britain's overseas policy, and whether there will be a comment period before this new policy is enacted by Customs and Excise?

The British Government recognises the Texan Republic as an independent state.

As to other matters, the British Government believes that so long as Mexico remains responsible there ought to be no restrictions on its ability to rise about the parlous legacy bequeathed to her by Spain. Should the situation change then the British Government's position will, of course, adjust to reflect this.

The Holy See mourns the loss of the Holy Father, Gregory XVI, who has gone to his Eternal Reward, and has begun deliberations in the Vatican for the selection of a new Bishop of Rome.

The College of Cardinals wishes to indicate that Luigi Lambruschini (R), Bartolomeo Pacca (C), and Emmanuele de Gregorio (L) are the papabile for the Papal Conclave of 1836. We recognize the perceived existence of Jus Exclusivæ, and will take it into account in our deliberations.

Peace be with you all.

To Persia
From Oman

We wish to calm our neighbors to the north. Our actions last year were not meant to stifle trade of any of the great nations on the Persian Gulf, but to free it up. We mean to sweep those perfidious individuals who would prey upon all the hard working merchants of the area from the sea. Our continued efforts will ensure that all trade is uninterrupted and free from attack.

To: the Usurper Felipe Santiago Salaverry
From: General Andres de Santa Cruz, President of Bolivia, Hero of the Andes, and the Rightful President Luis José de Orbegoso of Peru

Your armies are routed, and you have been beaten on every front. We are but days away from Lima and restoring the rightful President Orbegoso to power.

Make peace now, and surrender the presidency to Orbegoso, and we will be lenient to you and your soldiers.
