[BtS] "Mars, Now!"

No warlords? mmh, but this shouldn't be the problem.

I can't really think, what could be the problem.

It would help, if you could open your civ4config.ini (there's a link in the BtS folder), and change

PHP:
; Set to 1 for no python exception popups
HidePythonExceptions = 1


[...]

; Create a dump file if the application crashes
GenerateCrashDumps = 0

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 0

; Enable synchronization logging
SynchLog = 0

all the 0 to 1, and the 1 to 0.
This will show you most of the errors when loading a mod, it also creates a log-folder inside of your MyDocuments\MyGames\BtS folder.
Please say, what errors appear, and please .zip your whole log folder and attach it here.

Steam is a online shop, where you can buy games (also civ), and civComplete is a special version with vanilla and the 2 addons on one DVD.
Both can cause problems, but it shouldn't happen with the current version.

Then I Uninstalled and reinstalled Marzjezt 0.3, and edited civ4config.ini file.
Game crashed when i was loading a new game, got some python errors:

File "CvEventInterface", line 23, in onEvent
File "CvEventManager", line 196, in handleEvent
File "CvEventManager", line 404, in onGameStart
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'resetNoLiberateCities'
ERR: Python function onEvent failed, module CvEventInterface

Next attempt, to find the reason for the CtDs:
First thing is to find out, if it's totally related to the computers, or to the game.
I've played this savegame until ~ round 80 with no crash.
It would be very helpful, if somebody, especially people with a big stability problem, could try to play it, until the first crash or until round 80.

Ok, before crash occured, I played 2 or 3 rounds as solo player. So here the logs, hope it helps somehow..

:confused: okay, you have no interface, because the script, which is responsible for the interface, crashes.
The location of the crash is really strange :confused:, because it's an normal BtS function, which doesn't work, and not a thing, what i have modded.

Is the BUG-Mod installed for the normal game?
Did you install the patch 3.17?

Could you try to replace the attached file here in your marsjetzt-v03 folder?
I think, it will not solve the problem, but maybe the next error is more helpful.

:cry: the crashes seem to be totally random.
A german user reported a crash in round 30.
I've played the savegame again, got a CtD in round 50, after some heavy exceptions when the game drawed the techtree.
Next start with the savegame gave me a stable game until round 100 (then i aborted it).
The start with the savegame after that caused in a crash in round 28.
:cry:
I'll "strip the mod naked" at the weekend, maybe it'll help finding the origin of the crashes.



And another bug occured: The deimos and phobos science station has no effect atm, i've lost some code when restructuring my files, sorry :blush:.

I tried your sg and look, it runs smoothly :), ah, oops, it doesn't..

After I played 21 rounds(!) [never been so far before] the game freezed and after a while it crashed completely to desktop (neglecting error messages).

So again, here are the results.. ;-), ahem, the logs of mine:

The audio log says as last entry, that some sound files are missing, which i saw in more logs, but not in every, so not sure, if it's a big problem, but i'll look at it again.

I'm also confused since a while, that in most xml logs the UNIT_PRIVATEER is referenced, as not found in the CIV4EspionageMissionInfo.xml.
I do not have the privateer, or a reference to it, in any file (UnitInfo, UnitClassInfo or the EspionageMissionInfo), so i don't know, why it is mentioned.

Does any modder have an idea?

Es tut mir leit I was so stupid not having patch 3.17 installed (thought i allready had it...). It fixed my no interface problem.

I hope I won't have to get back to you reporting errors, think you got enough to do...
 
Hi, I just tried to download this, but when I tried to paste it into the C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods folder, it gave an error saying make sure the disk is not full or right protected. How do I do this?

Make sure no file from that folder is opened (e.g. changelog opened in Notepad or so)
Login as Admin and try again..
Or if you know how, give full rights to that directory to user and try again..

Haven't worked in my python code with pointers explicit, and i've nothing changed in the SDK, so it can't be that.

I thought, i got all, but i'll look at it again, but sounds are a bit complicated (one error in adding one, and you have totally no sound in Civ :crazyeye:).

The automatic folder detection is for installing, not for downloading.
Download it into the folder you want to, and then install it.




Patch B
Will NOT break savegames.

Bugfixes:
- Fixed the not working wonder "Deimos- and Phobos Science Station"
- Fixed the not working trait "Defender"
- Fixed the not working trait "Resourcefull"
- Fixed some missing effects
- Now you can not found new cities, when you do not have enough resources
- Terraforming will now not overwrite resources with other resources

Balancing:
- plots with water, ice and oxygen are now not more affected by terraforming
- Changed the bonus from "Habitable Caves" from 1 free specialist for the continent to 1 free specialist for all cities
- Changed the number of appearance of the sandstorm and the sabotage event
- Moved the ability to build research from the tech "Robots" to the tech "Philosophy"

Additional:
- Wonderfilm for the national wonder "Genesis" added
- First player to discover the technology "Robots"/"Androids" will now get a unit "Robot"/"Android"

Other things:
- Renamed the national wonder "Wallstreet" to "E-Bank"
- Some minor cosmetical changes in the pedia

Because i suspect a unit to be the reason for the CtDs, it would be logical, if there would be less CtDs if you have less units -> also less CtDs on smaller maps -> would please one or two guys try to play a game with a smaller map?

Changed the graphics to lowest of the lowest & sound off. Noticed that some units had the same graphics as units from the 'classical' BTS (hoovering units were tanks, mutants were indians etc.)

Had another CTD, see log.

I think you're running out of ideas now, don't you? :(

Yes :(, because it seems, that there's really no reason :( (the log says again nothing, what i could see :().

Okay, i've identified, that minimum 1 unit can cause a crash (because the "naked" mod has only units, the techtree and the civilizations in it, and only unit graphics), but to find out, what unit it is, need time.
I have also no idea, why it crashs so often on some systems :(.
My system is relativly stable, so i can't reproduce that.
