Sandkasten

Pardon my ignorance but what is this 50pts penalty that you are talking about?

Some bad news, after running the priest for just 1 turn, we have 8% pollution. Also, this only puts us to pop at the same turn our capital pops. IIRC, Firaxis screwed up and didn't take OF into account for genes, so the capital will most likely pop a priest ahead, despite we'll break 100 pts in our GE city. I'll have to world builder test later to be 100% sure. So this means we need another 8% pollution, sigh.

If I'm not mistaken, weren't we aware of the overflow not working for great people, and Snaaty did some nifty planning to get us to only need 2 turns with a priest instead of 3?

I think this is what we had planned for.

Yes I believe we have discussed this earlier, but I was hoping not to believe it :p

@ ah... in a team game every time you pop a general or great person, every other leader on your team gains a 50 pts penalty for their next one in the que.

I was thinking in 3 turns our GE city reaches pop 3. From then on we run an engineer while always working the 2 irrigated rice. Gives us 1 GE more in less than 30 turns that way.

i´m heavily against that. we should get now the granary, then dig into the settler whipping cycle (as proposed in my first plan here).

units we will get plenty if we use the overflow and build them while regrowing. all else then settler spamming (backed up with unit spamming) will lead to our downfall. with the pyramids and the nice land and our 2 cities set up for settler spamming, we can have 8 cities around turn 80 with all the units we need to protect them.

running ANY specialists now will slow us down essentially, so once more i have to say that im completely against this.

my 2cents:

grow to 4 , whip settler for 2 pop , grow to 4, repeat 3 times in both cities. use regrowing and overflow to get units out (after granary and forge are in off course).

if we have the cities up and running fast, we can really do something with the pyramids. the 3 team allies wont trade with us anyways, so :crazyeye: grow big and such seems the right move...

can someone please update the sandkasten? we need to do some MM now, and we need the new lands put in, thanks in advance:goodjob:

I'll do the best I can on this... the most recent sandkasten is not quite accurate (off by a couple hammers I think) -- obsolete (or anybody), can you provide screenshots of all the known land we've seen?

I can take some more shots. You also may want to take a look at the real thing as well. The password is Gand3010hi.

I may do that -- I've read there is a way to inadvertently crash the game. Are there some rules or "DOs and DON'Ts" I need to know before logging in?

Obviously, I won't change anything.

Alright, I did the best that I could... I did not log in to the game, I just worked off of screenshots.

A couple of things:

1) Capital is a little off on its hammer bin. Food bin may be as well. There were some turns where I could not see what tiles were being worked, so I had to guess. GE Farm appears to be dead on correct though. Is there a way to modify these in WB? I couldn't find one. Or, is there a saved game XML I could edit and accomplish the same?

2) Workboats are out of position... didn't feel like building that much land that didn't matter for our sim.

3) Beaker rate was a little off for some reason. As a result, we don't match gold totals.

If you want to have a true beaker rate, etc. You'd also have to mod in WHEN other civs were met, and WHAT they got at WHAT time, etc. So don't worry about getting it perfect.

Our settler is ready to move this turn, but I don't know what to do with it. Settle on our home land, or move it over-seas? Unfortunately we have to wait until next turn to see where any iron may be.

Unless Iron is revealed elsewhere, I think we should take a gamble on the spot I've marked with a red X.

3 (possibly 4) floodplains, clams, plus all 3 desert hills (and whatever resources they may hold)
