So i recently got a used lenovo with windows 8.1 I can install and play civ just fine, but I am unable to "see" other players in LAN mode even though my computer recognizes and connects to theirs.
Did you read the linked text? Gamespy did not exists anymore. You must redirect the hardcoded Urls of Civ4 to a new server. The site describe two ways to do that…
