Political Cartoons

With all due respect Marla, you know quite a bit about pointless insults and knee-jerk reactions. Sure, DBear appears to be a grade A moron. Sure, I'm a leftist (and a francophone, to boot). It still made me chuckle. The picture of Bush and co. is funny, but it is not troll.

As for your obligatory nazi/jew reference, you could have just as easily pointed to Ghandi and British attempts to dehumanize him.

This whole thread is an exercise in seeing what others (however misguided they might be) consider to be worth talking/writing about. Some of the Israel/Palestine cartoons were neither funny nor accurate, and they disturbed me greatly, but they were from a different perspective, and that was useful.

Hell, even knowing what our enemies think of us and how they try to galvanize their troops is worth something.

Anyway.

I think I have once again proven what I always say about the left--they can dish it out, but they can't take it. :nya:

Oh well, if this makes you feel better...

You wanna talk about Lefties?

Let's see how this works ;)

As far as I recall, political cartoons do not have to be funny. They usually are, but they don't have to, there needs to be a political 'message', but nothing more. And btw. I find 'Aphex's' comics quite truth-capturing.

Well, Ram, those were not easy to come by. If you do a search for "political cartoons" you are bound to find 99% marxist and socialist stuff (some of which quite entertaining ;) ). If there's intrinsic value in labour then the above are gems :D

You should take my comments with a sarcastic pinch of salt. Of course they don't have to be funny. But it helps. I also thought many of Aphex's were funny but I didn't want to give him the pleasure of saying it out and out in the light of our other debates we've been having.

I've been pretty busy in real life but here are a few:
