I finally have gotten approval, mainly because the center that I work with has sufficient laptops, to use Civilization 3 in the historical gaming class that I teach in for 3 weeks during the summer. This will be a trial to see how it goes, and hopefully, may become a regular offering every year. My son has worked with me on how to set up a small Ethernet network so the students will be all playing on the same map and game.

I am planning on using TETurkhan's Test of Test scenario for the class, with a total of 6 students plus me as players, and probably 5 or 6 additional AI controlled civilizations. What I am looking for is information as to how long might turns take with that many AI players, and any experience of forum members playing in networked games. The victory conditions will be set for only Diplomatic, so as to make the students have to negotiate and cooperate in order to win. I am also open to any information as to how the AI operates under Diplomatic victory conditions.

I am greatly looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Sounds like fun. Wish I'd been allowed to play computer games at school... ;)

Just out of curiosity, did you already see this?
