The situation warrior with 5 health versus barbarian camp warrior with 2 health, predicted result a draw 4 - 4.
Battle commences and there is no point to it because as soon as the first blow is struck the background colour either lights up or turns dim. Imagine having those sorts of Psychic powers at a boxing match!

yeah, of course it is. The animation is just there for show, the numbers are the real deal.

Just turn off your combat animations if you don't like it...

Unfortunately, due to whines, almost everything can be known now even if you don`t want to know or shouldn`t know. For instance, if you choose random number of civs for a random map, you`ll know how many there are straight off anyway because of the new AI meter at the bottom that immediately tells you how many Civs there are now right from the start!

And the battle anims are somewhat pointless since it gives away the result way early.

Civ games, were, are, and will be, games that are based on numbers and formulas. Animations are purely "eye-candy".

I played a strategy game without animations before . It was also without fun . badum bum .
