[SOLVED] Strange Demo Issue--no longer starts

admittedly my computer is slightly under spec. But I've played the thing for 60 hours--with no problems at all and the game looked good.

Now--when I try to launch it crashes to desktop with no error message--right after selecting the DX version.

I know, probably not the most helpful question, but did you already try to reinstall the demo?

no I haven't! I'll try to do that later tonight--although I'm not sure how to do that.

So this problem is not uncommon then? Any other relevant threads you can refer me to?

OK I have figured out how to do it---just out of curiosity what could have gone wrong with the original installation.

I have no idea , but there could have been issues with Steam (there are some reports that files have been deleted and redownloaded), or...no idea.
After giving you the advice it comes to my mind that i should first have suggested you to clear the cache instead of the direct reinstall .

I fixed it you have to "verify the integrity of game cache".

Such a strange thing--steam is really stoopit!
