Funny Screenshots: Part Deux

What I find baffling is that Russia was sharing that island with a Barb city and never bothered to kill it AND that you never tried to kill it while razing Russia's city.
Russia's an AI, so that explains their lack of going after the barb city (I think Cathy landed a maceman and a settler on the island--no extra units to take the barb city.)

I guess I should have had the cavalries that razed the Russian city go and raze the barb city as well, but I was more interested in getting my units to the other continent and conquering the Russian cities there. There's no food for that island, so I wasn't keen on keeping any cities there.

I declared war on Boudicca on the "other" continent, and on the next turn I got an "enemy has been seen near x" message. And here's the frightening enemy I saw:

Spoiler :
Spoiler :
I think I had a city that popped a border that generated that message.

Dunno if this is original but I'd never seen Capitals anywhere near this close before:

That must be the worst start location of all time, the Incas are stuck on that tiny peninsula forever unless America generously decides to Open Borders with them.

Well, he appeared to get some colonies out there in the North, whether he got open borders or waited out until astronomy is unclear though!

Huayna was a vassal to Roosevelt when I attacked the Americans around 1840 CE. Apparently he'd gotten settlers through via open borders agreements before that, since his three cities up north bear Incan names.

BTW this was my first Domination win (only Monarch level though) at Civ4 after 7 years of sporatic playing; until I read the forums (how to whip and fight wars with minimal city development) all I could do was Space Race and Diplomatic. It can be taught!

Those Indian infantry are also controlling a vital chokepoint. :p

Genghis is off to attack India. Good luck with that!

Maybe He's trying to protect this very lucrative spot for planting his next city , I mean he can have all the "sand resource" he will ever need !

I lost 2 wonderful screenshots thanks to overenthusiastic clean-up of my Civ4 saves and screenies. So I'll just describe them, you can imagine them, and I'll imagine you being amused:

1. My unpromoted warrior killing an AI Warlord. Headline: "Hero of Alamein beaten to death by caveman with stick." Insult added to injury.

2. Context: I'm playing LoR on an oversized continents map, 200x200 or so. I've left the # of Civs at 15 to give everyone room to grow. Eventually I manage to explore all of my large continent and about 40 tiles away I find Huayna Capac, with 2 cities all by his lonesome. And about 60 turns later he shows up on my doorstep with an obsolescent stack, and DoWs me with the quip "The world isn't big enough for the two of us". Listen, Huayna: If the world was any bigger, Civ4 wouldn't run on my PC.

We all know the AI can do some very weird crap, but.... :help:

Borders have even expanded, so there is precisely ZERO point in running artist specialists. As you can see from the chosen tech, he doesn't have Representation either, which would at least make artists half-decent (though he should clearly have chosen different specialists in that case).

I also wondered why he took two eternities to build a workboat... :splat:

 Zara has more cities and a bigger army than Justinian. Suleiman seems to be no problem despite having the same military strength.

One of easiest diplo wins ever. Wang never built the UN. Willy was dumb enough to build it in Seoul and that city flipped back to Korea.

In my current game in my mod (VIP Mod) I just swapped through the AIs (ALT+z) just to check what kind of units and such they had or if they were making bad choices, and stumbled over this VERY protective Korean.
While most civs had some units around the world and some only had maybe a few transports and some submarines, the Koreans had none. All his units are within his borders (or VERY close by).
And its not exactly because he lacks army or navy as he is one of the top 5'ish strongest civ.

Wow, that's an offensive stack just waiting to happen.
