In the Info Center link from the main page, there is a section detailing all of the effects of the difficultly levels on gameplay. Where is a similar article outlining the effects of the changed difficulty levels in C3C? I currently win regularly on Emperor Level and want to move up, but want to see what I am up against before I make the jump... :p

Just to add some addition info to what vmxa has just said -

Start Unit type 1 are bonus settlers for the AI, so at DG level the AI starts with two settlers not just one.

Start Unit type 2 are bonus workers.

The cost factor is a discount on build costs affecting both food and production:
ie a DG settler costs the AI 21 shields and two pop, but they only need 14 food to grow 1 pop in a town, rather than the 20 food you need.

The cost factor is a premium on tech costs for the human player, so the relative cost of a tech to the human versus the AI on the levels is 125% on emperor, 141% on DG, 166% on deity, and a whopping 250% on SID.

Hope that helps.

When you start on demigod, make sure to expand quickly from the start. With 2 settler, the AI starts off a lot faster than on emperor.

Thanks for the replies! That is just what I was looking for.

I started my first Demigod game a couple of days ago and am actually doing well, but almost quit when everyone was settling cities around me at lightning speed early on. A pile of archers and a few wars later, and now I have the territory lead, but am still behind in tech by almost an entire era. But that will soon change with all of my new cities and the fact that I am German (I can now reasearch almost each tech in four turns). I'm just afraid the AI will beat me in the space race...so I'll really have to play catchup!
