Game won't launch

Sorry if this has been covered before but I can't see it mentioned anywhere.

My game won't launch from the icon or from the game folder. Neither will it launch when I put the dik in and click play

HELP!

Well I've tried two Civ forums and no one will even reply let alone help.

Has anyone else had this problem? I just phoned the tech support line and they werent any help at all....Looks like it will be going back to the shop

You need to give a little more information. How doesn't it launch? Do you get any messages? It's a little difficult to help if there is no information to go on. The tech support forum may also be a better place to ask.

This sounds sort of like the mislabeled disc problem.

We have established that the install disc is also the play disc, even though it doesn't say so. I don't know about anyone else, but when I put the disc in, I get the install menu, but no play menu.

So, original poster, try putting in the install disc, but after the menu comes up, click exit, and then use the desktop icon and see if that works.

I had a similar situation where the game would go through the "Loading and Init" miniscreen but then the actual game wouldn't launch. For some reason rebooting my system seemed to work.
