I saw some videos where people were constructing cities so close that they were sharing same tiles of resoruces. Is that means that only 1 is going to get those resources, example 2 hammers or both cities will have the 2 hammers?

I haven't played the demo, but according to this screenshot, cities can be very close, even right next to each other. It may be advantageous though to place cities further away, so that when you build roads, your units can travel greater distances in one turn (in case of an attack, for example). I'm not sure how tile management works for multiple cities, but I'd assume only one city can work the tile at a time, since it's been that way for previous games.

There has to be at least a square between your city and a neighboring city. And correct, you cannot share tiles, so it's best to place them further apart.

That is exactly what I thought, still does not make sense to keep them that close specially if they are overlaping one to each other.

well, after a certain amount of population, specialists can give 3, 4 or 5 resources, so it can get even better than tiles.

The thing about this game, is that you can build really really amazing cities, and whilst tiles DO matter, your strategy and investment in cities matter even more! Which kind of makes sense.
In real life, london's terrain isn't much different that manchester, or washington isn't too different to NY or even some other village in grassland. The thing about those great cities is the infrastructure and population - this is emulated in Civ Rev.

Civ4 made a lot of advancements in making distinctions between a civ who chooses to have a few high quality cities and one which expands a lot.

In civ rev, to have a good city, its generally best to have some other cities feed it settlers - and at this point the land around the cities stops mattering so much!

Exactly... in Civ 1-4 Land is power, in Civ Rev, population is power... if you are in republic, multiple cities is just fine.... multiple small cities grow faster, but few large cities spend less on buildings.
