"Shadow" schedule

Definitly have a lot more versions of Shadow to go. I think there were 8 major releases of light (.10 -> .17) and 4 of fire (0.20 -> 0.23). If I had to gues I would say shadow will be closer to lights versions that fires (fire was truncated because we were also working on Age of Ice at the same time).

As the other team members say, now is just the time for you guys to provide feedback, we will be working on shadow for the next few months before we reach the point where we are satified enough to close the phase and move onto "Ice".

You guys amaze me how quickly you make patches and new versions. Just a few months for perhaps as many as 8 versions with multiple patches per version?

If I didn't know better I'd think that the development of FfH was a full time job for you all. But even working on it as part time volunteers, you accomplish better support than the professionals do. And for me there is no doubt that the FfH team is the best mod team out there. It's surprising to me that this is your first mod Kael, and that you taught yourself coding with it.

With the release of Shadow, I can honestly say that FfH is the greatest game I have ever played. No exaggeration. I've payed upwards of $60 for games that don't even come close to providing the enjoyment that FfH has. I can't thank you all enough for creating this grand game. And so on behalf of the FfH Team, I finally donated $75 to my local PBS station (KCTS). PBS and FfH comprise the lions share of my media entertainment. So I thought it fitting for them to receive my FfH payment. Thanks Team for providing me with such great entertainment!

Thats awesome White Elk. Thansk for the kind words, and even more for the donation.

@kenken- I will be forever unable to escape the quote "as blocky as lego porn" with my father because of that podcast

Remember, there were versions 20-23 for fire and 10-16 for light phase.

phase 2: Fire: 20, 21, 22, 23
4 versions

phase 1: Light: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16
7 versions (8 really)

so with simple math:

f(n(v))=4[[0.5n(p)]^[-1]]-[2-n(p)]
---ignore that----

f(n(v))=[n(p)-2]^2+4

Shadow will have 8 versions and Ice 13
I hope it's right this time

How do you make resolutions for the overcounsil? I control the overcounsil and have an ally in it and want to make some decrees.

Once you are voted in as head of Council then every half a dozen turns or so (at least on Standard speed) you will have an opportunity to make your decree.

Hey Kael do you know that if you make the overcouncil you can pass resolutions on your own that the ai might not necessarilly want and then when other people join they have to follow them.

Also, and this happened with the UN and AP as well, Ive always thought that a ''no'' vote for a resolution should effectively be a -1 vote instead of being exactly the same as abstaining. Ie, 'Open Trade' 2 ''yes'' votes, 3 ''no votes, would fail. At the moment it would pass. I no for it to pass it needs at least half the total amount of votes to be passed but if it is an odd number like it only needs half-1 ie, 7 total votes, 3 ''yes'' - passed.

I just think ''no'' and ''abstain'' should be different.

Abstain implies that the member doesn't really care so '0' vote, also maybe their vote is ignored from the ''total'' votes, so you would still need half or more.

No implies that you really don't want it and so should be a negative vote, surely?

and how do you vote for head of the counsil?
There will be a pop-up asking you to vote for the leader. It first happens right after you found the Council and then happens at regular intervals thereafter. But you must have adopted the Council civic first.

and how do you vote for head of the counsil?

You (or whoever founded it) have to create the holy shrine of the Empyrean (named something with D... D...).

I also agree with Kol. 7's view of the counting, just didn't have that case occur yet.

Aren't you guys gonna update the website? ;)

With the recent rush of publicity for the mod, I think it would be helpful if
the website included a brief news bit regarding the release of Shadow.

It would be helpful if this thread were stickied, it's got a useful overview of the new features in "Shadow." Thanks.

Thanks this is a great mod. Kept Civ4 much more entertaining to me for a far longer time than Civ 3 did. This really is some great Grade A+ work you've done. I applaud you for this spectacular work, and the great work you continue to do.

Will espionage be added in a later version of shadow ???
If not, could you enable the "civilization overviews" the way they were in vanilla civ4 ??
